Chapter 13

Skylars p.o.v

I'm going to scream my head off if I can't open my freaking eyes soon. I was slowly going insane. My senses are not working, well I can feel stuff but that's it. I can't hear things, see things, move things, or smell things and that's terrifying and frustrating. 

I can feel a heavy warm material layed out over my body. I can feel the chilliness of the room yet I can't shiver. I'm sure I'm on a bed somewhere with the soft cushiony feeling beneath me and the soft fluffy pillow? Maybe? Behind my head. Although what I feel the most is the tingling sensation that spreads through my body at random times. If I could move I'm sure I would shiver, but not because of the cold.

Who knows how long later I was finally about to move my fingers and the second I did the tingling sensation was traveling through my body again. I wiggled my fingers more and then my hand. Soon my arms and legs were able to move and my eyes were finally able to open but it was so bright. Suddenly their was a shadow blocking the light and I gasped at the familiar body structure. My instincts making me sit up and jump off and under the hospital bed. I tried to hide my body as much as possible but I froze in shock soon after.

"Skylar? Hey its ok no one's here to hurt you. Please come out." His voice came and I instantly relaxed a little and peeked up at Ryder. He was crouched on his heels next to the bed, hands on knees and blue eyes staring at my with happiness and curiosity. I blushed and crawled out from under the bed and stood up just in time for Ryder to pull me into a soft hug. It scares me how similar Ryder and the alpha are. I was sure he was the alpha for a minute, thus my moment of panic. I tried to talk but it came out as a weird cough thing and he let me go and rushed into the bathroom.

I sat down when I heard the water running and realized I'm not in any pain. That's really odd considering I'm always in pain after something like this. He came out with a glass in hand and I smiled and took it gratefully. You know that feeling you get when you aren't thirsty but then you take a sip of water and you just start chugging it down? Yeah that's what I felt except I got the embarrassment of choking. I coughed and wheezed while Ryder rushed over to pat my back and rub reassuringly. "I'm f-fine."

"Ha a little thirsty are we Skylar?" He chuckled but I immediately stiffened under his touch. He knows my name....

"How do you...?" My voice clogged up as I stared at his suddenly blank face. He gripped my shoulder and leaned in close to whisper in my ear.

"I'm the next alpha... I know everything." He said and I shivered with wide eyes. Of course, how would I not realize he would know these things. It makes sense but I feel bad now for lying to him and stupid because I didn't have to do it in the first place. When he leaned back he laughed though and that left me really confused. "I'm just kidding mate. I found out when I brought you to Doc Stephen." He said with a shrug.

Gasping, I glared at him and slapped his arm. "I actually felt bad for lying to you but never mind, your mean." I said and crossed my arms and turned away from him. Childish I know but he really had me fooled. He stopped his laughter soon after and tried to hug me from behind but I shrugged him off.

"Hey don't be like that. I'm sorry Skylar and I forgave you already for lying to me if that helps." He said and I held my position anyway. Although I'm relieved that he's over me lying. Ryders soft whimper almost made me break and hug him but I stayed strong. "Oh! What if I get you food? Anything you want."

With that said I turned and jumped into his strong arms. I can't say no to food. The familiar tingles shot through me and his body's warmth went with it. "I still haven't tried pizza." I said with a smile when he chuckled and hugged me closer. I giggled when he sniffed my hair and gave a light growl before I pushed him away.
