AN: This is a 2 part prologue. The setting of this prologue takes place in the vampire city with 12 year old Mikaela. (Important: Read the author's note at the end!)
I meet up with her every Tuesday and Friday. Those are our days, the days we promised to see each other; kind of like a play date. We've been doing this for the last three and a half months.
Non of my orphaned family members know where I go during those two days. Neither does Akane nor Yuichiro, even though they are the closest to me. I always tell them that I'm out exploring or helping out other children in the city. Whenever they tell me they want to come with me, I quickly refuse and tell them not to worry.
However, sometimes I worry that they're secretly eavesdropping me. Yu especially. Knowing him, he can be very sneaky and snoopy. But I have faith in the boy.
The reason for me not telling my family where I go every now and then is because I just want it to be me and her; my friend. I just want to hang out with her. I'm sure she and Akane would make great friends. But for now, I just want to be the one who has her time until I introduce the rest of my family to her.
Today is currently Friday, and I promised to meet her by the bridge. The bridge that was high above the buildings, giving the people who stood there an ironically amazing and beautiful view of the horrid vampire city.
I walk up the steps that led to the bridge. Halfway up, I could already see her head peaking out with her (h/c) hair strands flowing with the warm breeze.
I waved my hand in the air as I continue to walk up the last of the stoned steps. "(Y/n)!" I called out to her.
She jumps a little as I said her name. I must have scared her. But as she turns around, she had a big smile on her face, reaching from ear to ear. Her smile made it seem like nothing in the world could make her upset.
She moves away a cluster of hair from her face and hides it behind her ear. "Mika!" She says, leaning on the side of the bridge.
I approach her and look across the scenery with her as our conversation commences. "So, what's on today's agenda?" I ask her.
Every day we hang out, and we would change up the activities. On Tuesday we played hide and seek within the city. It was my idea. However, it was difficult with all the vampires monitoring the streets. But the challenge was fun.
Today, it was (Y/n)'s turn to choose the activity. I look over to her. She was facing forward with her hand rubbing her chin and her face scrunched up. I can hear her humming as she thinks of something to do.
Suddenly, her face lit up which signals that she thought of something. She happily looks over to me and smiles like her idea was the best thing in the world. "Let's play pretend!"
I look at her awkwardly. "Pretend? Pretend what?"
(Y/n) shrugs her shoulders and then suddenly tells me to follow her. I didn't question her sudden command. Walking back down the steps I came up from, I followed behind her.
Knowing her, I know that she was planning to take us somewhere where there was a view of some sort. That's why she would always have us meet at the bridge, because of its beautiful over look if had of the city.
Every time before we play, she would always glance at that view. I'm guessing it reminds her that even the most tragic places can still have the ability to reflect beauty in a way. Even when she's trapped in a world of fear and sorrow, there's still innocence behind it all.

FanfictionThe story is all going to be in Mika's point of view. Still unsure whether or not I should commence with this fanfic. Read the first part of the prologue to see if you are interested. If this IS something you would like to continue, let me know.
