One of My Closest Mates

He's always there by my side

Never leaving it when i've cried

He always shows love and affection in his eyes

And he's never told me any lies

Mischievous and cheeky are his main traits

But he is one of my closest mates

For those of you who have owned a dog or cat

You know this feeling and can relate to that

He's like one of the family

And can drive my mum insane but even she can't deny he is lovely

A soppy old dog, that's what most people say

That shows love and compassion to anyone any day

I know I'm lucky to have him

He greets me with love and affection when i get home

And barks every time he hears the phone

I don't know where i would be without my dog

And i will love him no matter what
