"Athena." She said barely above a whisper. Lifting her hands, I noticed that she was very light, her arms were very skinny, to the part where you can see her bones.

Tears started running down my cheeks, she knows who I am. "Rose." I said sniffling. "You know who I am?" She didn't say a word, instead she nodded her hand and pointed towards the table beside her. I walked towards the table and an envelope came into view. I took the envelope from the table. I look at her wondering if she wants me to open it and without even saying a word, she nods her head. Wiping off the tears on my face, I slowly open the envelope and took the letter out and unfolded it. Its says:

Dear Athena,

By the time you are reading this letter, I probably am very weak and can no longer speak aloud. As you can tell my strength is depleting and I have been holding on just for you. I am sorry that we were not able to meet sooner. You probably are wondering how we were separated, at a young age our mother noticed that I was usually very sick and ill. Our parents found out that I had cancer, so they decided it was best to find me a better home that can give me a better chance at life. So here I am, still living, but miracles don't always last and I am once again stuck in this hospital. I have been waiting for this day to come, but not like this. I wanted us to get to know each other, you know catching up on our separate life. I never wanted you to be burdened with my illness and I didn't want us to see each other this way. I just hope that you know that I never forgot about you and even though we were far away, you will always be my little sister and I will love you with all my heart.

Don't forget me,

Sincerely,

Rose Swan.

By the time I finished the letter, tears were already dripping on to it. I quickly folded it up and put it in my pocket rushing to my sister's side, grabbing her hands. My mother quickly ran beside me and tried to comfort me, I kept sobbing until my eyes were dry. This is when I knew that I didn't want to ever leave your side because you were the only real family I had left. After an hours or so I was worn out. My eyes felt heavy and I couldn't keep them open any longer. I took one last look at my sister and welcomed sleep, it was the first time ever that I felt truly at home.
