Wolf's Soul (Book 1 of Soul Legacy)

Prelude

Night, such a quiet time for everyone to relax at home to be at home with their families or fall into a blissful sleep. Except for four people walking silently as if they are walking on air. When they reached their destination they stood outside of a collage dorm staring at only window with light coming from a lamp. All four were staring at the young man studying, three of the group smiled but one frowned at this thinking that it wasn't a challenge to kill the young man. "I have no need to kill such a worthless human." said the man who wants a challenge, when one of the beings turned around even though you couldn't see their face but can tell that outline of their body was female and when she spoke it was like her own voice could cut solid steel. "You're here just in case the change already happen Felix." He nodded understanding that if whatever this change is means the young man will clearly be stronger then the her and the other two.

Felix turned to the one who seems to be the leader of the group and asked "Blake did this change happen or not?" Blake continued to stare at the young man and said "No it didn't happen if it did happen then we could see the physical change that would appear." He started to walk toward with Felix and the female following but the fourth one a young male in his twenties continued to stare not at the young man but the dorm sensing something was not right when he looked at the other three going towards the entrance and could see what they could not see marked on the door.

  "Stop!:" He yelled mentally in their heads so they wouldn't draw any attention. When all three stopped and winced when he yell in their head, Felix was the first to turn around already used to the young male yelling in his head knowing he was a mute and could only speak mentally and the range of abilities he processed. "What? Do you see something Fang?" Fang nodded a yes and explained "There is a ward spell placed on the dorm, meaning someone knows about him and is protecting him without him realizing it."

Blake swore knowing they had to figure out what kind of ward it is and how powerful it is. He turned to Fang and asked "Can you see what kind of ward it is Fang?" He nodded and stared back at the door to check the marking. As he studied the ward, he started to tremble in fear realizing what kind of ward was placed and knowing they are dealing with someone with a huge amount of magical power. When the three saw Fang tremble they started to smell the scent of fear coming of him. 

Blake and Felix started to get nervous, they couldn't dare speak to words knowing that whatever ward was it clearly scared Fang. The female was the only who dared asked "Well what is it already we don't have all night standing here." The tone of her voice stating she didn't care what ever this ward is she just wanted the job done so she can go home and sleep before the sun rises and kills her. Fang glared at her knowing she has only been in this life for a few month wouldn't care if the sun burns her while he has been a vampire for three years being turned by Felix when some dumbasses decided to beat him to death for being a mute. "If you paid attention to your studies that your maker gave you Alexis then you would know that ward is a blood ward and that only an ancient spell caster can cast." 

Alexis stared at him with a dumb look clearly meaning that she has no idea what he just said. Blake cleared his voice getting Alexis's attention, he would never understand what her maker saw in her but he can understand why Felix turn Fang having been there with Felix and seeing how truly injured Fang had been that day and was the one to tell his parent what happen.

 "In simpler terms youngling we have to wait till the boy is outside, by himself, and somewhere deserted." Alexis glared at him but nodded her understand. When Felix calmed down he started to sense that they would have company and that there was someone powerful in the young man's room and started to stare up into the room. The other three noticed turned to see what he sensed, Blake's pale skin paled even more when he saw the other young man talking to their target. Fang looked at Felix for a second out of the corner of his eye and Felix did the same knowing that they are there for a different mission now then the one given to them by two power hungry vampire on the vampire council.

Alexis looked at Blake seeing the older vampire scared made her nervous to ask "Who is that guy? He clearly is a vampire but there is no way he is that powerful to protect the dorm." Blake didn't look at her still looking at the young vampire knowing who he was and who his parents are. "That young vampire my dear Alexis is Jake Nightingale and his parents are one the most powerful vampires in the world and his mother is the only one who could place such a powerful ward on the dorm." Alexis eye widen knowing who the Nightingale's are having heard of them in the vampire community. 

Felix's body stiffen sensing the other company is started to get closer. "We need to move we have incoming in 5 maybe 10 minutes till they get here and they are werewolves." Blake hissed hating to have to fight werewolves now and not realizing that they were in their territory. They started to run away just as a group of human shaped wolves appeared and they howled at the four vampires as the two young men looked out their dorm window.
