Anna Li and Jordan 'Jo' Williams were in the house they had gotten together after the Rio Heist where they had each gotten $11 million, along with the rest of the team.
They were in the training room that had a glass skylight to allow the sunlight inside. There was a wall and table of training objects and everything that they would need. They were dressed in workout clothes, training, sparring.
"You sure it was his team?" Anna asked.
"Definitely," Jo answered. "A Russian military convoy was attacked. Satellite Components were stolen. Cars just came out of nowhere. Six hospitalized, a dozen cars were destroyed. All within 90 seconds, in and out."
"World class," Anna told him. "I bet we could pull something like that off if we didn't care about who got hurt in the process."
"Exactly," Jo told her. "There's only one other team out there that could do something like that, and by this guy's reputation, he doesn't give a damn about what happens to anyone around him." Anna tried to punch him. Jo stepped aside. Anna spun to backhand punch him lightly in the chest. Jo tried to take a swing with either arm. Anna caught them, bringing them down in front of them. They both smiled. "You're getting better."
"You think I'm ready?" Anna asked.
Jo nodded. They kissed for a moment, pulling away, leaning their heads together.
Hobbs walked closer. "I'll be inclined to think so." Anna and Jo looked at him. "This is what a hundred million buys? It wasn't that hard to find the two of you."
"We weren't hiding," Jo told him.
Hobbs showed them a file in his hands. "How's the life of two retired international criminals in love and training for the biggest showdown either of you have ever seen?"
Anna picked up a water bottle from the table. "I like it here. It's quiet. Nice weather. Nearby the beach. And no extradition." She took a drink. "So, what are you doing here, cop?"
"From the conversation I just walked in on, you two are perfectly aware of Shaw's team taking down an entire military convoy in Russia," Hobbs told them. "You are gonna help me catch the team responsible." He noticed that Jo was looking at all the weapons around them. "And you're not gonna need any of this. I'm not here to extradite anyone. See, you're both gonna come voluntarily." He looked at Anna significantly. "As a matter of fact, you're gonna beg me." Anna looked at him in suspicion. Hobbs held the file toward her. "This was taken a week ago. The first photo she was caught in, which explains why neither of you knew about her yet."
Anna took the file, opening it, pulling out the photo that Monica Fuentes had shown Hobbs in Washington D.C. She was in shock.
Jo looked at the photo. "Letty?"
"It's impossible," Anna told them.
"You should know by now that nothing's impossible," Hobbs told her. "It's simple, Anna. One of the brothers that killed your parents and almost killed you when you were child has taken Letty under his wing. Letty, whose family took you in and raised you after your parents passed, which makes you two as close as sisters. You help me deal with Owen Shaw, I guarantee that it will lure his brother out into the open so you can deal with him, too."
Anna handed the file back to Hobbs, looking at Jo.
Jo nodded.
Anna looked at Hobbs. "We're gonna need everything you got."
"You get it when the team gets it," Hobbs told them. "I know you two think that you can deal with them on your own, because that's what you've been training to do, but it's not that simple. The crew we're after? They hit like thunder and disappear like smoke. You go in alone, you won't ever touch them. I've been chasing this guy across four continents and twelve countries, and believe me, the last damn place I want to be right now is on your front doorstep selling girl scout cookies. I need your help. I need you team."
