Chapter 1

(Nora's POV)

A sea of people flood into the auditorium, taking their seats around me laughing and chatting ...

All noise eradicates as an elegant and poised women graces us with her presence. Her dark chocolate eyes scan over us. Her new students. Her voice fills the auditorium commanding respect and oozing confidence...

''Welcome all ...'' she takes us all in gathering a deep breath and continuing .''I'm Jessica Francessco. I will be your teacher.Now ladies and gentlemen lets start our year off honestly?'' she laughs to herself a little before starting again ''The big guy up there knows I don't say that very often...''she smiles to herself...my first impression of her is that she is quite awkward call me crazy but I like to observe people and things and my observation of her ...

''Defense lawyers are not the most liked people in the world.It's a dirty job we do... lets look at the stats shall we: we lie,we set criminals free, we get rapists out of jail and we put drug dealers back on the street , but someones got to do it...'' whispers ripple through the auditorium. she waits for silence and soon enough the crowed dies down.

''We.Are.Those.Someones.'' she places an emphasis on words that don't need an emphasis . I was right she is awkward and a bit weird too.

''A question I got asked a lot when I was a defense lawyer.How do you live with it?How do you live ruining innocent peoples lives...Well I'll tell you how I lived when I was a defense lawyer:I drove home every night in my Lamborghini , I then had my personal chef cook me a five tar worthy meal,I went to sleep in my California king bed,I woke up in my silk pj's ,I put on my designer clothes and I left my mansion for the day .That's how I lived with it,that's how I lived with myself...'' This women is my hero I thought to myself .The only thing I can't rap my head around is why she would give it up just to teach us?

''The truth is being a defense lawyer is not for the faint of heart.You will have to be calculating,you will have to be cold,you will have to be ruthless and most importantly you will have to lie with a straight face.I will teach you how to do all of the above,but I can guarantee you by the end of my teaching most of you will have decided this is not for you and will have switched to the other less fun,less dangerous,less on the edge and less paid side...''she lets this soak in.

I look around and see a sea of sick faces surround me,there are only a hand full of people who look okay with the facts Jessica is giving us.I don't understand why people are looking like they already want to leave the program this is all stuff we already knew.

''We are going to have a mock trial,this will give ma a general idea on what you do and don't know .I will pick 8 students based on the entry exam with who ranked highest.Out of those 8, 3 will be defense lawyers and 3 will be tho other guys the ones we hate... the left over two will be the '' victim''and the ''accused''.The defense team will be made up of: Mr Dean Good,Miss Zoey Red and Mr Brian O Neail . The other guys who apparently have'' better morals'' than us will be made up of :Mr Drew Macntyre,Miss Kylie Hendrix and Miss Amilia Piece.

My heart nearly jumped right out of my chest and tears filled the back of my eyes.My name wasn'te in there this can't be right.This IS a mistake!

The case is as follows:A women has killed her husband she blames her son who has an air tight alibi and no motive.The women however has no alibi,has the motive of a huge insurance policy and her bloody shoe footprint was found at the scene of the crime the women will be played by Nora Falls and the son by Eric Davis,the rest of you will be the jury and I will be the judge you will have three weeks to prepare for this mock trial...''

As she said that this I knew we had to win no matter what because Nora Falls is no loser ...
