The Beast Within

Chapter one

................ CHAPTER ONE..............

All I knew was that I had to get away from him. He couldn't see me like this. This is not how my 18th birthday was suppose to go, at all. I fell to the floor of the woods of my fathers property. My vision went dark,then to blurry, and then everything had a tint of light blue. My skin started boiling from the heat radiating from it. My bones crunching and cracking, reshaping themselves. The pains becoming to much to bear.

It took me a few minutes to even realize that I was crying uncontrollably.

" I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!" I screamed in agony.

Then like nothing had happened, all the pain ceased. I felt fine, until I tried I get up and walk. I crumbled to the floor and saw something that shocked me even more then the pain.

I was a BEAST!

A 9 foot tall DOG!

Pure white hair sprouted from every pore on my body. With spots of black here and there.I had talon like nails, on my paws! And my tail, my tail! was almost as long as my legs. Oh....my....gosh...... WHAT IS THIS!!!!!

I looked behind me and saw the one person that I was trying avoid Toby. My boyfriend, and best friend.

"BROOKLYN!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!" He screamed, searching for me. When his gaze finally met mine he didn't look at me in horror the way I thought he would but with his kind caring eyes that always made my heart melt. When he started making his way towards me I cowered away whimpering. He said in a soothing voice "shhh it's ok Brookie, I know that this is all to new to you but you have to trust me."

Im getting nauseous, I am going to throw up.

"You have to listen to me. Okay? I know this sounds really out of place, but you have to slow your heart beat down, relax, and when you do you will be back to normal, I promise. Ill explain everything when you relax." He said in the calmest voice anyone could when they were talking to a WOLF!!!

I don't know how I knew but he was right, so I tried to slow my heart beat and relax.

I started shifting, again. No! No! No! I don't want to go through the pain again! But this time the shift was smooth, it didn't hurt at all, which was a relief.

When I was done shifting I hugged Toby and sobbed.
