"Ms. Armstrong, you have received some mail. Would you like for me to bring it now?"

"Please do, Alex. It may be important. Who is it from?"

I had been anxiously waiting for Moira Ash to contact me about doing the design for her new home. I really want the job. She has more money than I, so I know she can afford my best work. It would give my firm good publicity.

"It doesn't have a name on it. It was left at the reception desk while Cara was making copies."

"Oh. Bring it anyways. I was hoping it was from Moira. I really want her business."

My faithful assistant, Alexandra Tucker smiled, and walked out of my office. As she walks away, I sigh, disappointed that my mail isn't from Moira.

"Here it is, Ms. Armstrong."

Alexandra set an envelope down on my desk. It has my name on it, and nothing else. Alex stares intently at me. "Alex, privacy please. You know that."

I love my assistant dearly, but she is very nosey. She needs to learn to leave people to their business instead of trying to know everything. I open the envelope carefully, wondering what it could possibly be. I pull out what appears to be a business letter. Why would the envelope not be marked if they are sending a business letter? That is like, a huge mistake. I unfold the letter. It isn't a business letter. It is a love note.

Dear Cass,

Seeing your beautiful face is what keeps me going. You are the love of my life. Nothing makes me happier than looking at you. I dream of your blond hair, and your beautiful, sparkling brown eyes. I love your eyes the most. Your mascara is always done perfect, it makes your eyes look big and adorable. I love the freckles on your nose. So tiny and so cute, they give your face even more personality.

Sincerely,

Your One True Love

I set the letter down on my desk, stunned. I have never in my entire life received a letter like that. My husband Zeke, isn't the most romantic guy, so I'm fairly certain he isn't the one behind the letter. Who would send this?

I walk out of my office to find Alex. I pass by Kacey, a young intern here at the design firm. "Kacey, have you seen Alexandra anywhere? I need to talk to her."

"No, sorry Cass. "I haven't seen her since our lunch break an hour ago. Is it something that I can help with?"

"Unfortunately, no. Unless you know who gave me a weird love letter."

"Umm I don't know. I'm going to guess it wasn't Zeke, was it?"

"No. He never does anything romantic.Thank for trying to help. I'm going to keep looking for Alex."

"Alright. Bye Cass."

"Bye Kacey."

Ten minutes later, I have tracked down Alex and have her in my office. "Take a seat Alex. I won't keep you long. I just have some questions."

"What do you need Cass?"

"I want to talk to you about the mail I got earlier. Are you sure that no one knows who sent this letter?"

"I'm sure. Cara said that it wasn't there when she left to make a few copies but when she came back it was laying on her keyboard addressed to you."

"What about security footage?"

"The camera by the reception desk is broken. It is going to be a couple of weeks before we can get a new one."

"Ugh this is ridiculous! I need to know who sent this letter." I say, exasperated.
