Thomas' POV
"Do you know someone that could harm Mr. Jackson in any way?" The head campus security asked me, I think his name was Jack or John or something.
"No, he may be a little...loud and annoying but he brings smiles on the faces of people so it's kinda hard to think that someone could harm him." Jack (let's just call him Jack) nodded and ushered me out of the room.
When I got back to the house, it was dead silent. Everyone is in the living room with this distant face on them. Irvin is in the hospital for the meantime, the doctors say that he can have PTSD but the chances are slim though no one could really tell. All of us got interviewed, thinking maybe one of us know who could attack Irvin but all of us are clueless. I sat on the couch beside France.
"Who would do that to Irvin?" Hanna asked after a long moment of silence.
"No one knows." Brianna answered.
"Do you think the person is really aiming for Irvin?" Ann asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, all of us here loves watching horror movies, correct?" We nodded, "If you could quite process it, most of the killers in horror movies has someone they want to kill. Like a certain person they wanna kill and they're just killing others so they could kill the person they want last. Why? I have no idea."
"The question is: Who is the guy heading for?" Brianna asked. All of them looked at me.
"Woah there! Why me? Not because I'm a serial killer doesn't mean someone wants me to die!"
I looked at them one by one, "Look, guys, this isn't the time to blame each other, okay? Someone tried to hurt an Alpha and all of you know that revenge is the best friend of this house." They smirked and nodded.
The ring of the doorbell interrupted our conversation. Nicole stood up and walked towards the door, coming back minutes later holding a black envelope.
"No one was there, but this envelope is on the welcome mat." She handed me the envelope and I stared at it.
"You got to admit that envelope looks awesome, the black fitted it." I looked at Ann and squinted my eyes, "What? I'm just saying!"
Dry seal is used to seal the envelope so it's not much of a bother to open it. A crisp white paper is inside. I pulled it out, unfolded it and read the letter to everyone,
Alphas,
Do forgive me for not introducing myself yesterday evening. Just remember one thing, I always come back. The numbers shall go backwards until the end shall disappear. Look not in the present, look in the past.Sincerely yours, The Golden.
I looked at them all as I folded the paper once again and placed it back in the envelope.
"Creepy much?" Nicole shivered.
"What does the last one mean though? The numbers shall go backwards? What the hell?" France took the envelope from me and looked at it.
"Maybe it's a figure of speech for time?" I asked.
"Look not in the present? Shouldn't that be look not in the past but in the present? Or future?" Hanna tilted her head, confusion written on her face.
"We should all go to class. Who has Chemistry at 12?" They all raised their hands.
"Wow, this is the first time we all belong in one class." I said.
