My heart constricted as I thought about how badly this Eli guy hurt Zoey. He hurt her so bad that she was afraid to be in a relationship because the fear of getting hurt again. And I've heard of him too. He's in the East New York pack. I stared at Zoey. She was asleep already. I stroked her hair. "You're beautiful," I murmured in her hair.

I hated that when she talked about Elijah Clarke, that her face became a mask of no emotions. She became extremely serious and she looked so haunted.

Zo shifted her weight closer to me. I pulled away gently. I needed to talk to this Elijah Clarke. "Sleep tight. I'll be back," I kissed Zo's temple.

I got out the condo and slipped in Zo's car. I started it and started driving to the East New York pack.

When I made it to the warehouse that the pack was living in, I was glad to hear voices. I slipped in the warehouse. "Elijah Clarke here?" I asked a group of werewolves that were sitting around and talking. They all looked at me.

One stood up. "Yeah I know you. You're Bancroft's kid."

I nodded. "Yeah. Where's Elijah Clarke?"

A tall lean guy stood up. He had pale green eyes and black long thick hair that was in a ponytail. He had tattoos along his arms and he looked like a dick. "I'm Elijah Clarke. Ugh man, you smell like bloodsuckers. Were you killing some?"

"Um can we talk in private?" I asked gruffly.

"Sure." Eli and I walked outside.

I glared at him. "Do you remember Zoey Rogue?"

             "Who?"

I rolled my eyes. "Zoey Rogue Scotto."

"Oh yeah. That girl I dumped. She was a handful let me tell you. And she was too cold. Thank God she's gone. Those bloodsuckers are such leeches. Did you kill her?"

"No. Do you know what you did to her?"

"No, and frankly, I don't care. Why are you so curious anyway?" Eli folded his arms and leaned on the warehouse wall.

"You broke her heart. And you've put her through hell."

"She deserve it. She's a vampire. Vampires are selfish and cold hearted."

I punched his face. I couldn't take it. He was angering me. And I didn't stop punching him. I let out my anger and frustration. He yelled for me to stop. And I did. I crouched down. "That's for Zoey. I will come back again, and maybe I won't be so lenient." I kicked his groin and I walked to Zo's car.

"Mmm Dem, where were you?" Zoey asked as she rolled over in bed and wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Paying a visit to someone," I smiled and kissed her head.

"Mmm," Zo kissed my chest. She squeezed my waist, "This seems so easy. To be with you."

"Because it is Kitten darlin'," I drawled out my country accent.

Zo giggled. "I secretly like when you call me Kitten."
