   Zoey

          I was running.

Running from something. And it was catching up. It was going to kill me if I stopped running. My vampire speed was no match for the thing that was chasing me. It was gaining on me. I couldn't see what it was, but oh God, it was right behind me. A claw nicked my ankle. It grabbed me and suddenly I was in my old house. The one my family died in. It was like any other night. Relaxing in my room. Going to sleep. Human things. My sister was in the room across from me. My brother was somewhere. My father and mother were downstairs. Mum was probably reading a romance novel, and Dad, he was probably designing that club.

That's when Dad ran up the stairs and grabbed my sister. "Zoey honey, take your sister and hide under the bed. Whatever you hear don't come downstairs. Stay here and stay quiet. Can you do that for Daddy?"

I nodded and grabbed my baby sister. She was two years younger than me and we crawled under my bed. She started crying. I looked at her. "Shh,  Zel Nothing is going to happen."

She nodded. I loosened my grip on her. I heard mother scream. I clenched my teeth and closed my eyes. I heard gunshots. My mother's voice cut off quickly. My Dad started yelling. Zel squirmed beside me. "No. Daddy will get mad if you run downstairs." Tears were running down my cheeks. I held Zel's hand.

"No! Silas please." My mother screamed. I was relieved that she was still alive. And that Daddy was. Daddy's name was Silas.

"Madeleine run!" My father yelled. Gunshots were echoed throughout the house. My mother screamed in pain. I heard dogs howling in the night. I thought they were mourning for mother's death. Zel zoomed out of the bed.

"Zella no!" I shouted and got out from under the bed.

         I heard her running downstairs.

         More gunshots.

         BAM! BAM! BAM!

         Zel screaming.

         Mum not making a peep.

         Knowing that she was dead.

         Daddy shouting for her.

         Daddy dying.

I was full out sobbing. I wanted to go with them. I heard footsteps coming upstairs. I slipped in the closet and held Mr. Sniffles. A stuffed bunny that I use to squeeze when I was sad or scared. I gave to Zel after. But now Zella was dead. Zaven and I were the only ones alive. I closed my eyes as the footsteps stopped. They were inside my room. I sniffed quietly.

The closet door opened slowly. There he was staring down hard at me with a gun pointed at my head.

           He pulled the trigger.

I screamed loudly and sat up. I looked around. I was in the jet. Dem shot out from his sleep and came over to me. "You okay?" He asked.

I shook my head. Tears were running down my cheeks. Flowing. So many tears. Dem pulled me into his chest and rocked me like a baby. He stroked my hair and soothed me. "You're okay. It was just a nightmare," Dem cooed.

          "You okay Ms. Scotto?"

"Yeah Danny," I sniffed and wrapped my arms around Dem's waist. My anger at him vanished. The hole in my heart that was for my family deepened and got bigger.
