Zoey

I opened my eyes. My neck ached as it healed slowly. I noticed I was in the infirmary of Shadow Creek. Demetri was sitting right next to me with a guilty expression on his face.

"What happened?" I groaned.

"Bloodlust. Why? Isn't it like vampire suicide? I'm lucky I brought you in in time," Demetri glared at me.

"I'm afraid to love someone. Love is a weakness Dem."

"My love for you is getting stronger. I'm getting stronger. How is that a weakness?" He asked.

My eyes narrowed. "Because when you have to choose between killing the enemy, and they have me at gun point, you won't kill the enemy."

Dem sighed. I smiled like I ate the canary. "See? I'm right. I know I'm am," I stood up, "And I don't want to talk about me turning off my humanity. I'm not going to thank you for bringing back. I have someplace to be right now."

I walked to Rose's office. I wasn't late, which was good. I looked around the room and silently approved. Bri and Ridley was sitting next to each other. I sat beside Ridley. She smirked. "I knew you would be here."

Logan walked in with his brothers, Jackal and Chase. I narrowed my eyes. Jackal, Chase and Logan together in one room was hell. They all stared at Bri, Ridley and me. I narrowed my eyes. Its like they all had a fixation on us. Logan was the one who messed with mostly all of us even though he was obsessed with Ridley. Ass of a vampire. Jackal was a warlock like Bri and he was pretty sweet. Sometimes. He would be chivalrous to her. Begged to go out with her. He once went on his knees. Bri rejected him and then he made her hair turn into snakes. And then there was Chase. He didn't bother me much, but he sometimes sent me letters and poems. He was quiet, but he had manners and he was sweet. Quiet vamp.

Chase half smiled at me. He walked over to me.

"Hi," He whispered softly. His eyes were a brilliant emerald that had flecks of blue and brown. I liked his eyes. They were fascinating to look at. His blonde hair was messy, but in a way that was also styled. The roots of his hair was black which meant that he dyed his hair blonde. He was tall and he had muscles with a swimmers build. He was wearing a white t-shirt that hugged his chest and cargo shorts. I was always afraid of hurting him. He was so sweet and kindhearted that I wanted to stay away from him. He was innocent. Too innocent to be around me.

"Hey," I half smiled, "I never pictured you going for this."

Chase pulled a chair and sat in front of me. "Oh Zoey, there's a lot that you don't know about me."

"Oh really?" My smile widened.

"Yeah," His tucked a loose strand from my ponytail behind my ear, "Maybe you could find out more stuff about me at the bonfire tonight."

I laughed softly. "Chase, you're too innocent for me. I could poison you."

"Maybe I want to be poisoned. You don't seem to mind that Demetrius Rowe gets poisoned. People have noticed. His pack has," Chase looked at me with those green jewels. He had a cute baby face, which I liked.

My eyes grew wide. I didn't want Dem to get exiled. "He's just my thrall. I don't care for werewolves. Let him get poisoned by me."

"He kissed you. I think it was two weeks ago."

My eyes narrowed. "Why Jake Chase, are you spying on me?"

"No. Logan told me."
