"I didn't know there was a community theatre here!" Jayden exclaimed.
It was Monday and we had gathered Jayden, Emma, Maia, Quinn and Kayden to tell them about our project in the middle of the school corridor. It was early, the bell for homeroom was going to ring any second and there wasn't much time to explain the plan.
"That's like saying that New York doesn't have Starbucks, it's impossible". Winona said, using her sarcasm as a weapon.
"Are there auditions or something"? Maia asked.
"No, we want to offer you roles" Violet said.
Jayden squealed.
"Oh my god, this is so exciting, I'm dying" Jayden overreacted.
"No, you're not" I said.
"Kori, it's an expression" Jayden said in a bitchy tone.
"No it isn't, it's like expression slang". I said.
"Okay, whatever you say"  He said.
I rolled my eyes.
"You don't have to be so bitchy about it" I accused.
He nodded.
"You're right, sorry doll".
"It's fine, Jay".
He smiled and built up his excitement again.
"So...who am I"? He asked.
"We want you to be Frank". Winona said.
He clapped his hands.
"Oh my god, definitely!"
We then offered Quinn and Maia their dancer spots and Quinn her backstage job. They both agreed and Emma agreed as well.
Kayden eventually asked how he was involved.
"Brad, we need a Brad". Violet answered.
He raised his eyebrows.
"I don't want everyone to see my dick!" He laughed.
"You can wear boxers if it makes you feel more comfortable".
"Yeah, I'm in if that's the case".
I clapped my hands together.
"Perfect!"
"But who's Riff-Raff"? Jayden asked.
"My brother". I answered.
He agreed, believe it or not, I just have to give my TV hours for the next month.
Hasn't he ever heard of Netflix?
I agreed without thinking, Chris doesn't make the most thoughtful deals, I end up winning either way.
I then thought I saw a familiar figure out of the corner of my eye. I shifted my eyes to try and see if I was right.
I was, it was Celeste walking towards us.
"Hello guys!" She exclaimed in a happy tune.
I was still upset about Saturday, but I didn't say anything to her. I knew Violet and Winona weren't happy either, but they did the same as I did.
"Hello Mrs Waldorf!" Winona matched our teacher's tune.
She then came and joined our bunched circle as if she was a student like us. I could see that some of the kids like Jayden and Quinn who aren't taught by Mrs Waldorf were probably just playing along whilst trying to figure out who the hell this woman was.
"You're all secretive", she pointed out, "it's like you guys are plotting a murder!"
"No, too much blood". Jayden answered, which made me chuckle under my breath.
"We're discussing a project". Winona said.
"What project"? Our curious teacher asked.
I thought that soon Jayden was going to ask Mrs Waldorf who she was as he's not one to keep his mouth shut, but he carried on playing along as if he had already gotten to know her over coffee.
"Um, we're going to be holding a stage production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the West Cambridge Community Theatre". I answered.
She then told us how exciting that was and that she would love to come and see us when we began performing.
"Do your parents know"? She asked.
I shook my head.
She winked.
"I can keep a secret". She said and gave me a little pat on my back and walked away. We all watched her as she strolled away. She bounced in her walk, her hair bounced with her body. Her walk was one of the most confident I'd ever seen, but there was something artificial about it.
"Who the hell was that"? Maia asked as we watched her.
"Why did you call her Mrs Waldorf"? Quinn asked Winona.
"She's a teacher". Winona answered.
"Who did you think she was"? I asked.
"The drug addict that supposed to come and talk to us today".
I didn't even know at the time that that was happening.

After school that day, we went back to West Cambridge  and handed our forms back to Mr Joggers. We then began planning.
It's been a month since I was grounded , and my freedom has been partly granted.
Partly because I'm not allowed to go out at night until Halloween.
The Rocky Horror production is going according  to plan and we are starting to lay out the story. Mr Joggers is directing us and helping us set everything up, he's been such a star! We had learnt all the songs by the end of September and I was so surprised to see how well Kayden sings.
"Where did you learn to sing like that"? I asked him one day after rehearsal.
"I sing a lot in the shower". He joked, I could hear it from his tone.
"Me too". I played along.
"You're really good, you have a very different voice".
"Thank you, but how is it different"? I asked, wanting to talk to him for longer.
"It has like a...uh...an English voice...you have like a British voice", He said, "like Birdy".
I smiled , tracing back to the memory of our first meet.
We were sitting backstage whilst everyone else had already gone home, we had volunteered to put all the props and microphone back.
"You remember that night quite clearly, don't you"? I said, wrapping wires around a microphone.
"Well, when you remember something huge that someone has in common with you, it's easy to remember".
"I didn't know liking Birdy was absolutely 'huge' as most of the kids in our school would have no idea who she is".
"That's why it's so huge".
Then, we realized that we were finished.
"Um, you live in Jordan Street, right"? He asked.
"Yeah...are you stalking me"? I teased.
"No, I actually live in the same street".
I raised my eyebrows.
"And you know I live there...how"?
"You told me when you were drunk on that Friday night".
My smile disappeared.
"Oh...about that".
"Did you realize that the drinks were spiked"?
"I think everybody did ".
"It would be a little weird if you didn't figure out".
"I think that's called having a drinking problem".
He chucked and directed his arms to the exit.
"Shall we go"?
I nodded and we walked out of the theatre, beginning the long way home.
