Chapter 6:
Chloe's POV:🏆"Hey dad, you're gonna be out coaching late tonight right?", I ask my dad over the phone. "Yes, why?", he replies. "I just wanted to make sure so I don't get freaked out, you know, late", I lie. "Ok honey, I'll be back as soon as I can, you're welcome to come", he offers. "No thanks. But I was really thinking about nationals and I think you have the best bet if you put Nick as center", I try to casually suggest. "I can't talk about this right now, I got to go Chloe, I base my decision on not only competition, but practice work ethic and attendance, good bye", he explains then hangs up. Ugh that pretty much means Josh already has it in the bag. My dad has a strict no party rule, so we barely have anything I could use for tonight. The music is already blaring and the plastic disco ball is on when the first group of people come through the open front door. Af I crazily dance alongside Nick surround by over 100 teenagers. "Great party chlo", he shouts over "this summers gonna hurt like a motherfuc*er". I smile at him and look over my shoulder at some boys with beer bottles. "Holy shit, they brought alcohol", I exclaim nervously. "It's fine, it's a party", Nick slurs, who obviously discovered the alcohol before I did. "I need a soda", I say stressed out, pulling Nick into the kitchen. I close the door behind us. "Nick, what am I going to do, my dad is going to flip!", I bellow. "Relax. Daddy won't find out", he replies calmly chuckling. "I'm serious Nick!", I'm basically screaming now. He shushes me and strokes my hair. "Why don't we continue this party upstairs?", he drunkly whispers. "You're drunk!", I point out turning towards the door. He pulls me back, "or the closet?". "Stop!", I shriek. I storm out of the kitchen, leaving a drunk confused Nick staring at a refrigerator. "Chloe, we have a problem", Kalani approaches me. "Your neighbor came over complaining about the noise and Lucas answered the door a little drunk and your neighbor threatened to call the cops if we don't control the noise", she explains. "when was this?", I ask. "Over half an hour ago", she answers nervously. The noise was definitely still out of control. As if on cue, red lights and a loud siren came closer and closer until finally there were police officers inside my house. The music was immediately turned off and everyone started to flee. I was left in an empty house consisted of a mess and an aroma of beer. "Do you live here?", an officer asked. "Yes sir", I answer, my heart beating out of my chest. "Are your parents home?", another officer asks. "No, sir, my dad isn't home", I answer. "We got a noise complaint from someone in this area but it looks like it might be more than that", the first officer tells me, sniffing the air that stunk of beer. "I never meant for it to go this far, I swear! I don't even know who brought the alcohol! Please don't put this on my permanent record!", I exasperated. "What's your name, miss?", the officer asks. Before I can answer the back door from the kitchen slams open. "Chloe Elizabeth Lukasiak, what the hell is going on?", a voice screams, a voice belonging to none other than my father. "What the hell is Nick doing here?", a voice follows, belonging to none other than Josh. My furious father comes into the room and sees me talking to two police officers in what looks like a scene straight out of a movie. "I know how bad this looks, and I know how mad you must be", I start. "Mad? I'm furious! I come home to find my teenage daughter throwing a party in my home, empty beer bottles on the floor, and my house surrounded by police cars! Damn right I'm mad", he exclaims. "Sir, who are you?", one of the police officers ask. "Who do you think I am? I'm her father!", he answers staring at me. Josh awkwardly walks back into the kitchen. "There was obviously underage drinking going on. Your daughter is looking at an underage ticket and about 20 hours of community service", the officer tells my dad. "And a damn lot of grounding as well", my dad adds. "Chloe go to bed, first thing tomorrow after you're done cleaning my destroyed home, we'll finalize your punishment", my dad asserts. I nod and make my way upstairs. I find Josh in my bedroom, on my bed, scrolling through his iPhone casually. "Can I help you?", I ask snottily. "Nope, but I sure as hell saved your ass from an extra month of grounding", Josh replies. "Oh please, you're probably enjoying this", I say. "As much as I would've enjoyed seeing Nick get kicked off the team and you getting yelled at for hosting a party where he got drunk, I took care of him, I called his mom and she picked him up without any questions", he explains. I don't say anything. "So, Chloe Lukasiak threw a bad ass party and I wasn't invited, what has this world come to?", he jokes.🏆 -End of Chapter-
