Chapter 13:
Chloe's POV:⛸ After what seemed an eternity, I made it home. I slam the door behind me when I walk inside. I hear my dad walking down the stairs, I don't want him to see me crying so I wipe my face quickly and take a few deep breaths. "Hey Chlo, how was it?", he asks. Just staring into his kind eyes brought me to tears. I start sobbing. I rush into his arms. "Daddy", I say for the first time since I was like 8, in between the tears and sniffles. "Baby, what happened? Was it Josh?", he asks. I calm myself down and respond, "no and yes, it was that douche of a person, Nick". "Dobbs? My player?", he confirms. I nod as he wipes my eyes with a tissue. "Make sure neither of them play center! Kick them off the team!", I tell him. "Aw, Chlo you know I can't do that. But I can make their practice miserable", he replies and holds his hand up for a high five. I laugh and high five him. "So where's that dork, Hyland? Beating Dobbs up?", my dad jokes. "I doubt it after the way I yelled at him", I answer. "You yelled at Josh? What'd he do?", he asks me. I think over how to respond, now that I'm calmer I realize that I may have overreacted towards Josh. I don't want my dad to think I'm being silly, so what do I say? "It's complicated", I simply respond. "Well where is the stud?", my dad asks looking out the window for him. "I'm sure he'll be here in the morning, he was probably just scared we would gang up on him", I assure my dad who seems really concerned. "Okay honey, you get cleaned up, and I'll bring you up some hot cocoa with marshmallows", he says. I smile to myself at what a great dad I have then make my way upstairs.⛸ -end of chapter 13-comment thoughts
