Sometimes (a poem)

9 2 2

Sometimes I enjoy looking into things
Gazing into windows
Windows
Leading into the outside world
Leading into someone's feelings
Leading into someone's soul

Sometimes I like to stare at my mobile
Waiting for that text
Waiting
For a girl's text
For someone who I wasn't supposed to like in that way
But yet,
I ended up hopelessly falling in love

Sometimes I sit at stare at walls
Blank, empty canvasses
Walls
That people put up
That people break down
I've painted mine.
And I've burned some.

Sometimes I wonder if people can see through my windows
My windows and walls
My shields and bridges
And my defenses that have been torn down

At at last.
My phone vibrates
And I look to see if this particular someone
Anyone
Has broken down my walls
Smashed through my windows
All through a text
And, yet, the blue text bubble merely says

"jOHN CENA"

Maybe next time, then.
