First of all to be a 'Tumblr girl' you need to have social media such as instagram,Twitter,vine,snapchat, and of course Tumblr. Make sure you post just enough pictures try not to post so much pictures because people will start to get annoyed and will start unfollowing you which is never good because your goal is to become very well known. But don't post to little because you always want to keep your followers/friends updated with your life.
A good amount of pictures to post a week is 3 max and in your snapchat if you have one you can basically post as much as you want because that's were you can record every thing and people won't care because they can just skip it, on vine I don't really post anything I just watch them but if your a tumblr fangirl then you could probably make edits and chizzz
