PART TWO

I grabbed at his neck and bit into it, seconds later I could taste the metallic of the blood ooze into my mouth. Someone’s footsteps started coming closer and then they found me.

“YOU THERE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” The person, guessing the leader, yelled at me. I got off the now lifeless man and stood at my tallest on my hind legs, which is pretty tall it’s about 6’5 no one in this town can be that tall the only tallest is 6’3. HA! I growled in anger as they are holding pitch forks and torches. I turned around to start leaving, until someone threw a pitch fork and I turned around and caught it.

I smashed it against my knee and broke it in half. I threw it to the ground and growled at them some shirked back in fear and as some ran away. I shake my head in amusement. I turned back around and took off with them chasing me right behind I ran straight into the woods and dodge tree after tree. I’m pretty sure that most of them got hit by trees. Stupid humans. Oh wait, I’m human well, I guess half now.

“GET BACK HERE WOLF!” Another puny human screamed at me. That just made me pick up my pace more, they soon fell behind and stopped. I ran all the way to the very top of the hill that I was running up. I stood back at my tallest height and howled at the starry night sky. I got back on all fours and stayed absolutely quite to see if anyone were still chasing me. Since I heard nothing, I started my descent down the hill. I got to the bottom and just casually walked through the woods.

I looked back up at the sky to see that purple, pink, and orange were starting to appear from the sun rising. I started my way heading back into town and back to my home. Thankfully when I got to town, no one was out. I make it back home as I was starting to change back to my human form, I crawl through my window and go to my closet and find some new clothes. I quickly change and sit down on the edge of my bed and think of what happened last night. I jump, startled from a knock on my window, I look over and notice that it’s Raven.

“Ello love, how are you?” he asks, while helping me climb out of my window.

“Hello Raven, I’m all right, and you?” I ask, back hugging him.

“I’m perfect now that I’m with you,” said wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling my body closer. I started blushing and I turned my head so he couldn’t see me. He pulled my face to look at him; I met his eyes and got completely lost in them. He cupped his hands around my neck and started kissing me, passionately. We both pulled away breathless and laid our foreheads together.

“I love you, Red,” He said truly. That time, I couldn’t help but blush at him.

“I love you too, Raven,” I said smiling at him. He grabbed my hand and we walked into town.

“Hey there, guys!” W looked over at Titus, who was walking towards us, or more like jogging.

“Hey,” I said, smiling at Titus.

“Ello.” Raven said coldly. I think Titus sensed that Raven isn’t a really big fan of him.

“Okay well, did you guys hear about what happened last night in town?”

He asked, looking over at Raven and me.

“Yeah, that’s really sad about what happened to that poor man,” Raven said holding my hand tighter, I looked over at him and gave him a reassuring smile, “I don’t know what I would do if Red ever got hurt.”

“Don’t worry Raven, I’m not going anywhere.” He leaned down and captured my lips with his.

“Good.” He said.

“Well Red, did you know?” Titus ask me, walking ahead to pick something up.

“No.” I felt guilty lying about this.

“Really?” Shock all over his face.

“I um… Uh… Really umm… I got to go…” I took off running, ignoring Ravens and Titus’s calls. I ran straight into the woods and kept going where ever my feet were taking me. I stopped right in front of the lake and fell to the ground crying and shaking. If only they knew the real story. I heard the noise of the leaves crunching and freaked.

“Who’s there?” I asked standing up and wiping my face.

“Sorry, my lady.” A strange, tall man comes from behind the trees. He’s very handsome; he looks like Raven a little, jet black hair and brown eyes.

“Who are you?” I asked backing away and right into a tree. Great! Just my luck! Nice one Red, way to get yourself trapped!

“I’m Kayden…” He said. He must have noticed my confused face, “The wood chipper?”

“Oh okay, now I know who you are…” I said, thinking I’m stupid. How could I have not known who he was, he’s the best wood chipper in town.

“Lady-“

I cut him off, “The names Red.”

“Red, why are you out here?” He asked me, coming closer.

“I ran out here, needing time to think about a few things.” I looked down at the water.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes, thank you.” I smiled.

“RED!!!” Both boys said in unison together and ran towards us.

“The bloody hell, Red, you scared us.” Raven said enveloping me into a hug.

“I’m sorry,” I looked down in shame.

“Don’t be.”

“Red, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything.” Titus had nothing but regret on his face.

“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.” I gave him a small smile.

“Oh, and guys, this is Kayden.”

“Who?” They said in unison, again.

“The Wood chipper.” They both made an “O” shape with their mouths.
