Chapter 1

It's Friday, I'm shocked my mom even let me go to my friend Monica's house. My great friend Monica has experienced worse things than me. She's lost her V card to a guy who didn't want a relationship, divorced parents, drinking and smoking problems. After everything she's been through, I've been by her side.

For my late 15th birthday gift, she got me drunk. Not hardcore, but enough to have fun. I did that one more time after that day. She was texting her bae and I really wanted to come over but she wasn't sure. She texted me to hurry and come over before her sisters got home. I rushed to pack my things.

Once in the car, my dad was asking questions. He's always asking questions. I wish he would just leave me alone. We don't have the best relationship. I sent a text to Monica saying, "here". So she could open the door when I arrived. Mirela, her older sister, left in the middle of a song.

I hear her shuffle off her bed.

"Come here!"

"Yeah" I say getting off my stomach and on my feet to walk to her kitchen. I looked up from my IPhone.

"Here" she had a shot glass and vodka ready on her counter.

"Umm what?"

"Hereee" she slid it over towards me.

"Why do I have to go first?"

"You're the guest"

"You're the host and older". I'm young for my age. Birthday is in June so I'm the same age for a whole school year.

She gave me a blank stare.

"Fine" I grabbed the little shot glass smelled it and looked at her. She had this huge smile on her face. I smiled back. Closed my eyes and prepared for the night.

"How does it taste?"

I puckered my face.

"It... tastes like nightquil without the artificial flavor" then she looked at me. Oh lord we were ready.

She downed her first glass and filled a water bottle up half way. Her music was up and we were on our phones, just chilling. I was extremely relaxed and all my worries were taken away. My stomach got this warm, fuzzy feeling, like the last time.

It helped me forget about my parents. They are so strict. It's not my fault my mom and dad had a beautiful baby girl. I'm not just saying that because it's me, I'm saying that because it's true. I'm Latina, that's kind of a plus for me. I'm 5'1, dark black hair, neck length. I have big beautiful dark brown eyes. My skin is fair, cheeks covered in freckles. It's in the family.

They're constantly worrying about me and they're always up my ass about school. I get the point that it's taking me places in life. They just need to chill.

As I'm scrolling through my Facebook feed, I look over to Monica and she's on the phone with someone.

"Who is that?"

"Quincy". Her first kiss. They became really good friends. I just mouthed the word, "Oh".

"You're boring" I say. I just really wanted some attention. I mean I couldn't text Victor he's an ex. An ex for a reason

"Text someone" she shrugged her shoulder and continued her conversation.

I went on my Facebook friends list and started scrolling. After what seemed like years, really just a few minutes, I managed to text 3 people. John, Adrian, and José. Two out of those three texted me back. John, also an ex but from a long time ago and José. I ended those conversations quickly because I became tiresome.

"Monica, let's watch a movie. A scary movie." This bitch puts on a movie by Johnny Depp. But hey, at least it was a movie.

"Can I pleaseee get a strawberry ice cream Momo" I pouted my lips.

"No the last time you ate something and had vodka you threw up all over my bed" It wasn't my fault I needed to escape... I just waited 10 minutes to re-ask.

"I feel that it's been 10 minutes and I've drank water to flush the alcohol out of my system so may I please have the ice cream?!"

"Sure". I bounced right off of her bed and got one. Mhhhhmmhm. Now let's hope it stays down

We fell asleep before the movie ended. What a night. But boring for me. At least the hangover won't be as bad...

~The Next Day~

I woke up, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and washed my face. I turn my phone over and the time reads 8:23 a.m. I head to Monica's room with a towel on my head.

Oh good, she's already up. I wonder what's for breakfast.

"We're going to McD's later for breakfast" Bad thing about that... I don't eat from there it's been a year or two.

"You know I don't eat that stuff... let's  go to Jack-in-the-Box" I know it's the same thing but I'll feel better knowing it didn't come from McDonalds.

After an hour we were back in her room with our food. I sent a text to my mom telling her 11:30 was good to pick me up.

Next thing I knew I was back home living my stupid life. How boring.
