PART THREE
“Nice to meet you,” He out stretched his hand for Raven to shake, which he gradually shook it.
“You too.” Raven said, “Oh, and this is Titus, the fool that made Red run out here.” Raven jerked his thumb at Titus.
“HEY!!! It wasn’t my fault. I didn’t know that she would run, okay.” He yelled defensively at Raven.
“Dude, I was kidding, God.” Raven put his hands up in surrender.
“Okay, as entertaining as this is, I have to go…” Kayden said, interrupting there little fight.
“Why?” Both Raven and Titus asked in unison… Again… They really need to stop doing that.
“Well because, I have work and I’m suppose to watch out for this animal that attacked last night.” My eyes widened and I think my face paled when he mention that he’s watching for the animal. Man, I’m screwed when everyone finds out that it’s really me.
“Red, are you okay?” Raven asked me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little scared about that animal thing. Does anyone know what animal it was?” I asked. Maybe they won’t know what animal it is.
“Werewolf,” Kayden said.
“Really?” Titus asked, “Are you sure it’s a werewolf?”
“Yup, many towns’ people saw it so it’s kind of hard to deny it.” He said matter-of-factly.
“Oh…” He said with a dumbfounded expression on his face. Since Kayden left, we just sat and hung around the woods with each other. I didn’t even notice that it was getting really dark. Titus left and Raven and I walked home, he dropped me off first.
“Well, today has been interesting, hasn’t it?” he asked wrapping his arms around my waist.
“Yeah, really interesting. But I’m really glad we all hung out today and met someone new, well not new, because everyone knows him but I mean we got to meet him.” I chuckled nervously, after mu random babbling.
“Yes, I know what you mean, Love,” He chuckled at me. I blushed, embarrassed. “Hey, don’t be embarrassed. I know what you meant.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. He hugged back, just as welcoming.
“I love you, Raven.”
“I love you too, my love.” And with that he left. I went inside and straight to my room and lay down on my bed. It was the same time as it was last night, when the pain came through my body again. I started groaning in pain, and grunted when I fell off the bed and hit the floor. I got up and crawled out of my window and ran towards the woods. Once I thought I was far enough, I collapsed to the ground, screaming in pain. When the pain finally stopped, I got back up on all fours and howled at the night sky. I started running to wherever my feet were taking me, until I stopped to the sound of leaves crunching underneath someone’s foot.
I looked up at the direction of where the noise was coming from. I saw a shadowy figure in the distance coming closer. The stranger finally became visible and I recognized him instantly. It was Kayden. I guess he really was looking for the animal, which is me. What is he’s looking for me then, does that mean he’s going to kill me? My question was answered when he pulled out a bow and arrow. I got up as he was getting himself ready to shoot. I saw the look on his face when he saw me at my tallest length.
He positioned himself to shoot, but was to afraid. He shot the arrow anyway, and I caught it in mid-air. I went straight up to Kayden, and grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against a tree. He started struggling against my hold. I looked him in the eyes and saw the fear. I dropped him and started walking away as he was struggling to get air.
“What you afraid, Wolf?!” He said coldly to me. I ignored it and continued to walk away. “You are afraid, aren’t you?! COWARD!” I turned around and got right in his face. I saw his eyes soften as he looked in my eyes, “Red is that… Y-Y-You?” He stuttered out. I just turned away started to run to where I had gone last night. I picked up my pace and ran to the top of the hill. I looked down and spotted Kayden. I howled at the moon, and looked at Kayden once more before walking off deeper into the woods.
“RED!!” Kayden screamed at me, but I ignored it. The night went by slowly and I finally notice that the sun was coming up. I ran home so nothing else would happen. I stayed home for a few days, ignoring everyone, because I wasn’t really in the mood for talking. It was Friday and my parents forced me out of my room. I was just walking around in deep thought until-
“Red?” I turned around to see both Raven and Titus running towards me.
“Yush?” I asked the boys.
“Where have you been? We have been looking for you.” I felt flattered, yet guilty, for making then go through that.
“I’m sorry, I haven’t been feeling well so I stayed home.” I lied, feeling even guiltier.
“Oh, okay. Are you okay love?” Raven asks me in concern.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Have any of you seen Kayden today?” I asked, because I need to make sure he doesn’t tell anyone about what happened.
“Yeah, he’s in the woods, why?” Titus asks me out of curiosity.
“Because, I need to talk to him.” He made and “O” shape with his mouth and nodded an okay, “Well boys, I’ll see you in a bit, okay? I need to talk to Kayden… Alone…” And with that, I took off running towards the woods. It took me an hour to finally find him.
“Kayden?” He jumped, I guess startled from me coming out of nowhere, “Sorry.” H turned around and glared at me. Okay harsh.
“Red, what are you doing here?” He asked still glaring.
“We need to talk.” I said getting straight to the point.
