"Lola! Erin! Ronnie!" a familiar voice called out.
I stood on my tiptoes; Jenna was jumping up and down, waving at us as we walked through the arrivals gate. I waved over to show we'd seen her and she came running towards me. I was soon engulfed in Jenna's arms, and we were squeezing each other tightly. It's been ages since we last saw her; I actually missed her, even though we only met her once.
"Erin you look amazing!" she gasped as our embrace broke, holding me at arm's length. "Seriously, you look incredible."
"Aw Jen..." I blushed. "You don't look too bad yourself."
The other two eventually joined us, with Lola nursing her head because of the hangover that had set in during the flight. She looked in desperate need of coffee, so I volunteered to go on a coffee run while we waited to be picked up. To be honest, I was missing dad and I just wanted to ring him and let him know we'd arrived safely. I got in line and immediately found his name in my contacts.
"Hello?" he grumbled.
"Oh shit, I forgot the time difference," I mumbled. "Hi, dad!"
"Erin!" he exclaimed. "You got there safe then?"
"Just about..." I grimaced. "Lola was throwing up. She got wasted."
"Ah...self-inflicted." I could hear the smirk in his voice. "Well, I'm glad you got there safely, darlin'. I've been really worried, but now you've rung I'm over the moon! Have fun, Erin. Take care of yourself and give my regards to the girls. I love you."
"I love you too, daddy," I said quietly.
The phone call ended and my eyes began to fill with tears. It suddenly dawned on me that I was thousands of miles away from my dad in a strange country with people who just about managed to put up with me. It was all just a bit overwhelming I guess. I was now second in line and the guy in front was taking forever. He must've ordered about 15 coffees, and that's just what I heard! A short guy who looked sort of Italian soon showed up, taking half of the order with him. The guy in front went to leave and I stepped forward, but I wasn't watching where I was going. Our feet sort of became entwined and we both almost fell. I managed to catch myself and so did he, but the coffees weren't so lucky. All of them slipped out of his hands; one of them landed on me, sending coffee splashing all over me.
"Bollocks!" I hissed as the boiling liquid hit my skin.
"Fuck!' gasped an American accent. "Ma'am I am so sorry, I really am."
I looked up at him; his eyes were hidden behind a pair of Ray Bans - although I could see his slug-like eyebrows above them - and his mouth looked crooked on his face. Most of his dark brown hair was covered by a red beanie, but the bit I could see was an organised chaos. Basically, he was really hot. It was a good minute or so before I realised I was staring
"It's fine." I blushed. "I wasn't watching where I was going, it was my own fault."
"No, it was me. I'm so sorry," he said, biting his lip. "Tell you what, as an apology, I'll pay."
"No, there's no nee-" I cut myself off, noticing the look he was giving me. He'd removed his sunnies, exposing the most amazing brown eyes I'd ever encountered.
"That wasn't an offer."
I eventually gave in and ordered for myself then waited as he paid and re-ordered the ones he'd dropped. I felt really bad, making him do this, but it was kind of good to be saving some cash! I waited and decided to walk with him.
"That was really sweet of you." I smiled.
"Anything for a pretty lady like yourself," he smirked.
