When Scott and Mitch put their daughter to bed at night they always sing her a lullaby. It helped Nellie, their daughter, to fall asleep. A few years ago she had troubles falling asleep, she was always scared of having nightmares and she was terrified of the dark. But when her two fathers sang a lullaby she instantly fell asleep, completely free from all her worries.
This night in particular Scott was the one to put Nellie to bed. They often did it together, but Mitch was coming home late and didn't want to keep Nellie up. Scott started singing light in the hallway, and Nellies eyes started to close.

Now it's time to sleep

Nellie was worried tonight though and Scott was laying in her tiny bed. She was curled up by his side and he hold on to her tightly.

Scott stroked his daughters hair, calming her, and her eyes closed fully and she started falling asleep.

There's a light in the hallway
Burning all night long
Nellie had just fallen asleep when Mitch got home. Scott didn't hear him open the door and kept on singing to Nellie. She was making quiet little sleepy noises reassuring Scott that she was asleep. Scott kept on stroking her hair and holding her tightly, as he kept on singing the song. He wasn't aware of the fact that Mitch was watching him with adoring eyes.

When Scott had finished singing the entire song he looked at his beautiful daughter.
"That was beautiful" Scott looked a little surprised at the door seeing Mitch standing there, gorgeous as ever.
"Just like you" Scott responded, getting out of Nellies bed to approach Mitch.
"I love you" Mitch said as he hugged Scott.
"I love you more" Scott responded as he kissed his beautiful husband.
