In a kingdom on the verge of  war, ten Children were born to the King. It was said, although none can be sure, that the Children were born during a period in which the planets aligned, as each had remarkable talents apparent from birth, having control over a certain element of the universe. The Children grew into adolescence, developing their increasingly powerful skills. Except for one, the child Life, who on the Children's tenth birthday, vanished. The entire kingdom was sent into turmoil, assuming the Child was taken by the neighbouring kingdom Rukbat, with which war was imminent. Radical leaders argued with the king, demanding a declaration of war immediately. The King flat out refused to show any aggression towards Rukbat, declaring the time would present itself for war. Life's twin, Death, receded into himself, not talking to any of his siblings, or his father for that matter, focusing on developing his skills to rescue his closest brother. Blending into the shadows was one of his talents, and he was not bothered by his pesky siblings, who were all focused on seizing the throne when their father died. It went on like this for a while, until the Chidren's sixteenth birthday, six years after Life's disappearance. This is where we start our tale of Death, the child who lost his closest brother and his journey to get him back.
