In 1993 in a small town on a farm in Pineville, a blue heeler named Tucker was born on a hot Summer day in July along with three other pups in the litter, the mother really didn't care about the runt she understood that he didn't matter much along with the others, sadly the farmer,Tom, and his wife,Katy, didn't like the runt either.
Tucker felt like going on an adventure away from his family that always hated him in many ways, so he thought of running away, on that night he snook out of the barn and yipped excitedly to do his adventure, he felt a small chill under his coat of fur, he then started trotting off to the woods,but before he could go into the woods one of the farm hands,Jake,saw him going into the woods so he ran after him before he could escape,Jake knew Tom was going to kill him because he was useless to him so Jake took him and hid him from Tom. The next Morning Tom questioned where the pup was and Jake said "I was out working late last night and i went to put him in the cage but he was no where to be found" Tom believed him and went on with his usual day. Jake knew he had been lucky this time but next time he might not of. As the day went on Jake did his work as he was to do but Jake kept thinking about the pup and knew he did the right thing.
After every day Jake went to where he had hid the Tucker. Jake has gotten attached to him and Tucker got attached to him. But one day when everyone was asleep Jake snuck out of the house and went to visit him but Rosie,The farmers daughter, Heard someone go out of the house so she got up and tip-toed down the stairs one by one.Jake had already went out side by the time she got down the steps. She went out side and saw him going into the horse barn and she followed him into the barn, He turned around to shut the barn doors and he saw Rosie. "Rosie?!?" Jake said.Tucker came out of hiding and ran out when he heard his friend but Rosie ignored him when she was the puppy. Rosie ran and instantly started petting and hugging Tucker and Tucker barked in joy and the horses neighed in chatter.Jake put his hands on his head he knew what was going to happen but when he tried to stop the noise it happened...Tom's lights came on and he rushed down the stairs and rushed to the barn and he saw it all. Tom looked at Jake,then Rosie and Tucker.Katy came out of the house too and walked into the barn and saw Jake and then looked at Tom and then left the barn. Tom said "You said he ran off! You lied!" Jake didn't respond he ran and sat by Rosie and Tucker.Rosie hugged Tucker "Can we keep him daddy? Can we! Can we?" Rosie Said "Go back to bed Rosie" Tom said.Rosie did as she was told and ran off to bed crying. "As for you Jake" Jake cut him off and said "But sir,He's innocent! What did he do to you?! Please don't kill him...please?" Jake looked down at Tucker but when he looked down Tucker was gone. Jake ran away from the farm looking for him. But before he ram off Tom said to him "if you ind him,and you can trained that runt then he's yours" Jake smiled and then ran off
Meanwhile Tucker had ran off into the house and ran up to Rosie's Room and pawed at her door.Rosie opened the door and smiled as she saw tucker. Rosie called him up to her bed and they quickly fell asleep.The next Morning Rosie and Tucker woke up and went down to breakfast cheerfully "Where did you find him?" Said Tom "I didn't find him he found me" She smiled and ate her breakfast. After breakfast Rosie and Tucker went out side and they saw Jake sleeping on a hay bale Rosie shook him and woke him up "Are you ok mister?" Jake opened his eyes and laughed some "Ya,I'm alright"
Tucker jumped on Jake "TUCKER!!" Jake yelled he looked at Rosie "Where did you find him" said jake "He came up to my room with me when i left" Rosie explained. Jake hugged Rosie and said "thank you" Rosie just smiles "Come on tucker!" Rosie called for him Tucker ran off with Rosie
A few years pasted and the year changed to 1996,The Farmer had died, and Rosie was now almost 11 and in the 5th grade.in that year things went down hill from, Katy couldn't pay the bills and The bank was going to sell the farm and the animals on it. Jake couldn't let that happen so he planed a fair.
