I had said this so many times to my " "hear no evil monkey face emoji 🙉" parents. I was just fine being an only child. But my parents went ahead and opened our home to some freakish kid I don't even know! This makes me soo mad! Has your parents ever did something that made you interrest mad, like for example: You want a really small birthday party, with only one friend. But, one day when you at that one friend's house, some freakish kid you hate, uninvited, comes to your house and makes an invitation list and mails to party cards out. And invites most of the kids you hate. That is what it felt like. Except worse! Now some kid I don't know and don't care about is coming to my home! How would you feel if you're parents said this?! Parents: " Guess What!!" You/me: "What?" Parents: " We are bringing a foreign exchange student into our home!" You/me: "WHAT!? I don't even know the kid! NO! NO NO NO NO!!" Parents: " Yes! Yes yes yes!" You/me: " Whatever! When is the freak coming and what grade is she in?" Parents: "In 3 days! EEEEEKK(squeal of joy)! And what a wonderful thing! She....is....in.....the.....same.....GRADE!! EEEEEEKKK(louder and more joyful squeal)! Me/not you: NOOOOO! 6th grade will be hard enough without some freak following me around! Parents: Watch your mouth young lady! This girl has no home and you do! So you better watch it! This girl is just as smart as you are and has the same interest as you. Infact, she applied for drama and she didn't even know and has the same schedule as you!" Me angered:" You didn't even ask!!" Stomp stomp stomp SLAM! I was so mad! That night my parents allowed me to get supper silently and let me eat in my room. Mom later brought up a slice of double-chocolate cake with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream and a glass of milk. She slipped in, took my dirty dishes and set down the cake and milk without one word and left. Later, just as I had gotten under the covers, she came in and took the cake plate and the empty glass. She leaned over and kissed my forehead and said "I love you. Good night.", and left. And I said good night just as she slipped out the door, just before I fell asleep.
