"you're such a good friend, you're like a brother to me Derrik!" mans worst enemy. my heart sank and my stomach dropped. that's right i had just been friend zoned by my crush Justine. i swallow my pride, "oh...umm, thanks..." i manage to breathe out. "uhh, hey im just gonna go 'kay ?" i say standing up from the couch. 'hmm? why? we just started the movie," "umm, well you see i forgot i had to... do something today," "oh, well ok? see ya tomorrow at school" she also stands up to gives me a quick hug. i grab my stuff and run out the door, and continue running until i get to the park. i sit on a bench holding my head in my hands. " DAMMIT! " I roar. After wallowing in self-pity i stand up and head home.
" i was just kidding yesterday i've actually loved you for a long time, I just didn't know how to tell you..." Justine murmurs, her face going red. i mentally fist pump "i uhh like you too..." i say rubbing my neck blushing. "really?!" she runs over and wraps her arms around my neck slowly pushing her lips toward mine. just as our mouths connect... i wake up drooling in my pillow. 'dude, seriously not cool,' i pull my legs off of the bed and just sit for a while processing my dream. Afterward i got up and did my daily ritual go to the bathroom, get dressed, do my hair eat breakfast, brush my teeth and done. i grab my backpack and keys and yell a quick "bye! i love you mom!" and head out the door to wait for the bus. i head to the back and sit in my usual window seat. after a few stops Madeline comes on and sits next to me. Madeline otherly known as Maddie is one of my chick-friends. but she's basically a bro even though shes a girl she has short shoulder length wavy brown hair with purple tips, a very creative fashion sense, and she doesn't mind being around us dudes and our stupid jokes. After a while three other friends joined us "dude, Justine friend zoned me..." i mumbled embarrassed. my male friends sympathetically pat my back "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Maddie laughed hysterically tears forming in the corners of her eyes, giving us the bus' full attention. "Shut up! You wouldn't understand the male pain of being in the friend zone!" I yell at her "you in the back be quiet!" the bus driver yelled. "yes mam..." we all said in sync. "seriously?! thats so lame... 'gee willkers Derrek you're such a good friend you're like a brother to me' hahahaha" she joked imitating Justine's voice. "shut up" i say jokingly shoving her playfully. "you know what this calls for right?" maddie said. "guys night!" Jake, my funny brown haired, and hazel eyed friend said."Yeah, that's not gay at all." Damien my blonde haired blue eyed ladies man friend said sarcastically. "71% of guys who hang out with friends gain more self esteem" jack, the smart guy of our group stated matter-of-factly, he has shaggy black hair and green eyes and wears contacts. "ughhh," i face palm.
"to the bowling alley!" Jake yelled as we left school to go to our towns only bowling alley 'the gutter'. we enter the gutter out of breath and head to our usual spot and Maddie gets nachos and pizza."okay then lets talk about Justine" Damien says as Maddie comes back with the food. "augh, you guys wake me up when you aren't lame" we all look at Jake for his uncharacteristic outburst. i look in his eyes to see that they're red, you see he has mpd, multiple personality disorder, since his eyes are hazel when they turn red he is a cool guy type smart ass while when they're green he acts jokingly and like a blonde but when they turn brown his personality is unpredictable. we all know by experience to leave him alone when he's like this. Maddie pulled out a notebook and a pen. "i guess we'll call this operation friend zone"
