I lie and you don’t. I am bad and you aren’t. I know and understand and you do not. We are not the same but we are one. Nothing can tear us apart. Even death cannot do us part Lily Black.
The words surprised me. I know I wouldn't say this, but for some unknown reason I did. This didn't make sense. No, nothing made sense at all. Why would father leave for someting so trivial?
Derek sat in front of me staring and boring into my eyes as if slowing seeing something. I sat there and stared back at him. I did not trust him. He wasn't some one I ever could. Lily Black was kind and open but I wouldn't trust him. I could never trust him. His outer kindness wouldn't fool me. I bet he lied through his teeth. His story had to many holes. Just too many.
"Your Lily White, aren't you?" he said voice rising with a little power.
"How can you tell??" I purred which I saw in his eyes infuriated him.
"Lily Black's eyes are blue, but like last night yours are completely gray." he spat as if disgusted by a decaying corpse.
"Your point?" I said as I stood up.
I started to walk away, but he grabbed my hand as if wanting me to stay though I know this wasn't that he despised this part of me. Me. The magick part of his Lily. I think I was only created because I was to guide her magick but I wouldn't accept that. Life was going to be different. I was not going to disappear.
"You be good to her," he glared. "If you aren't.."
"You'll kill me? Hurt me? Try. Go ahead and try. Hurt your Lily Black. Every punch you'll land will hurt her just as much." I laughedly interuppted.
He glared, and he was startled at my bold cruelness. I knew his weakness and I would play off of it. He tried to warn me something about finding away but all of his speak is rubbish. I walked off in the forest leaving my basket. I'll explain to Eva later what had happened. I just had to find Eva's house. I let my feet guide me.
I walked for hours and it was early evening. I stopped and ate black berries when I came across a black berry bush.
"Are you lost, little cat?" came a cold ice voice from across a field I just walked into. A beautiful field it was. I believe the other word for it is meadow. Yes, meadow was correct. I saw the man just across the field in the shade of the trees in a bench. I walked over to him.
"Yes, I am lost. May I ask your name, sir?" I asked politely feigning Lily Black's attitude. I looked upon him. His eyes the color of leaves from a bountiful tree that always bears fruit, and he had hair darker than the stone jet. Yet he had an unnatural blue shine. His skin was pale and flawless, and he was dressed in the darkest colored clothes. He was a beautiful black rose. His head was square but everything else was stunning. His head shape complemented the shape of his eyes. His body was slim in the black and purple clothing.
"Yes, my name.... My name is Samil. Your name?" his voice was cool and refreshing.
"Oh my name is..Li.. li....tu." I stuttered my name. Why did he make me nervous? He was amazing. He could almost stop my words. How unusual.
"Lilitu?" he amused himself. "Well I like it. The meaning especially though it contradict that beautiful face you hold." He looked at me.
I melted. "What does your and my name mean then and how does it contradict my face?" I asked trying to block the fact I messed up my own name.
"My name means 'venom of god' or 'Angel of Death', and your name means 'Of the night' which is amusing. Your face shines like a moon and your appearance is not at all dark." He smiled.
"I see that is indeed amusing. Where are you from?" I asked curious.
"Right here," he said as he pointed at the huge manor.
"Samil Ackhart?" I said breathless. He was the lord of our kingdom's son, but he looked nothing like the lord.
"Yes." he stared. He was quite quiet, but I enjoyed this.
"May I sit with you then?" I asked. He looked up and into my eyes. It was as though he peared into my soul, but his eyes were endless.
"Are you sure you don't want to get on your knees and bow?" he said in a superior tone.
"No. I am a person am I not? I do not have to bow to you." I replied in the same tone. Now I could tell he was interested.
"Then sit with me, and don't ask if you may." he said as I sat next to him.
This darkness, his intensity was amazing. Samil. Samil was different. No one dressed in dark colors but to the funerals. No one of his standing wasn't supposed to let me sit without asking. I think I can be more myself.
"What draws you to this meadow?" I asked casually. This meadow was gorgeous vibrant and green but no comparison to his eyes.
"Why aren't you scared of me?" he retorted, but I think he was serious in curiosity.
"Why would I be? Is there something that is supposed to scare me??"
He just stared at me. I was a nut job for saying such an odd thing, but it was true. I didn't think he was scary more or less he was the most handsome mysterious person I've ever met.
"How was your day so far??" I asked making small talk.
"It is a desirable day to sit in the meadow, so in small I'll say it has been well to me." he replied in much thought.
"Indeed." I replied.
"How'd you get here??" he said as though there was more to be said.
"I was escaping a heinous man who'd trapped me last night." I said looking down angered at the thought of Derek ruining this time with Samil.
"What'd he do to you??" he said looking severely angered.
"I was walking in the forest looking for plants. Night came quicker than I anticipated, and he appeared. He grabbed my arms and yelled at me. He must of knew me for he kept saying, 'Why don't you remember me?' It was strange, and very scary." I replied recalling last night. I saw his hands clench, but he was angry for me. He was angry at Derek, oh how this pleased me so.
"Do you know his name now??" he asked in a calm tone.
"As much as I know his name is Derek. The last part of it I don't know though he does have blue eyes." I said.
"Odd. Blue eyes on a male are rare, but you have very pretty eyes." he complimented.
"Uhh.. Thank you." I whispered.
I was so flattered. He was life itself to me, but should I not love so quickly? Maybe for Lily Black's I shouldn't love him, but it didn't matter. I couldn't let her love Derek, for if she did I'd be having a great deal of problems.
"Where is your home??" He smiled.
Oh no....
"I live with Eva Smith." I replied not wanting then to lie to him.
"Eva Smith the herbalist? Are you her apprentice?" He said
"Yes. Sort of." I replied.
Day was in the middle. I had to be baack before dark so I stood telling him I must leave to make it back to her house before dark.
"You can stay here for a night." He said
"Really? Then I shall not deny your offer. I will stay, but I warn you I won't be the same in the morning." I told him.
"That is fine. A maiden is usually acting queer when she stays a night with a man hardly know. It'd be expected." He replied.
I spent my time there with him talking as if we'd known each other our whole lives. We ate a fantastic roasted duck. He showed me the library which held more books than I'd see in a lifetime. I slept with happy thoughts and my murderous dreams made comfort to me.
I awoke and
