Warriors: The Omen of two

Part 13

Lost. The thought creeped into Dawnpaw's mind. This had only been her first time out. It was raining, she was wet, and leg deep in mud. She burst end through a patch of brambles and felt blood swell from her nose. I can't see any thing from this darn rain!
           Se padded further, a bright light off in the distance caught her eye. She crept forward. Her food sloshed into a water filled rabbit den. Foxdung!
          As she neared the lights, she smelled something.
Mouse.
She bunched her muscles and prepared to leap. As she pushed of a loud sucking noise frightened the mouse. Dawnpaw's paws were stuck in the mud. "Help!"
         She yowled. "help!"
       She struggled to free her self. A twig cracked in the distance. She whipped her head around to see a giant lanky creature. Pink fat paws reached out to her. She struggled as much as she could to free herself. She felt a chill run down her spine as the creature's paws met her pelt. She was lifted away.

Smokeypaw felt cold. Her sister was still in the medicine cat den, and Dawnpaw's was still out with her mentor. Ripplepaw, and hazel paw were curled up together in a nest. The rain hadn't stopped. Her stomach growled. She struggled to her paws and padded to the fresh kill pile. Underneath a soaked mouse was a dry shrew. She picked it up and headed to the elders den. She heard Adderberry talking to stumpear his former mentor. All the cats turned their heads as smokeypaw popped in. "It was the only dry prey, I figured you would need it more then me." Deertooth licked smokeypaw a shoulder, "would you like a bite?"
            Smokey paw shook her head. "There's other things. But thank you." She pushed through the den and headed back towards the fresh kill pile and picked up the soggy mouse. She bit into it. It was cold but at least it filled her belly. She went to the apprentices den and curled up in a ball and tucked her tail over her nose.
