I groan as I hear my alarm clock going off, signaling that I must get up and ready to head back to school. Sadly thanksgiving break just ended and so did my hopes of change. It's time to get back to the same old school and seeing the same old people. Don't get me wrong I love my friends I just wish something different would happen, maybe something exciting. As I push my hopes aside I force myself out of bed and brace for the day that lies ahead. While pulling up to the school I wave "bye" to my mom and head into the music hallway where I place my stuff, since I never feel like taking it with me to the cafeteria where my friends and I always meet up in the mornings. When I enter the cafeteria I notice that people are in more groups than usual and when I finally reach my friends I directly look at Avi because she always knows "the news". "What's with all the commotion?" I ask confused. "Everyone is talking about some new transfers that we are supposed to be getting after the morning announcements." Avi replies seeming very excited. "Oh wow." I add sarcastically. It's not that I didn't care I just didn't see what the big deal was about, we get transfers all the time what made this one so special? I continue to listen to my friends gossip while I eat my chicken biscuit. The bell rang reminding us that we have 10 mins to get to first block. I throw my trash away and snatch Avi out of the circle and drag her to choir with me, as she complains, " WAIT I WASN'T DONE WITH MY JUICE". Everyone shuffles to their seat just in time as the morning announcements appear on the front screen. " Good-morning Blue Devils and welcome to Devils in the details on BDPTV ..." The announcements seem to trail on forever and I completely zone out until, " Blue Devils we are expecting to have four new students transfer and we are to treat them with the upmost Blue Devil pride! Have a marvelous Monday" Just as they signed off Avi, being on the other side of the room, leaned forward and looked at me and mouthed, " FOUR NEW CUTE GUYS" with a huge grin on her face. I mouthed back, "I KNOW, I WONDER IF-" I was cut off by the choir door opening. Everyone snaps their heads to see who it was. And there standing was the new transfer students. There was in fact four of them but one in particular caught my eye. He had short black hair and wore shades that made him look mysterious and he wasn't that skinny but I didn't care. He was different. And I liked it. The shades guy walked in the middle of the classroom and that's when Mrs. Walker interrupted my day dreaming and the awkward silence. "Welcome Mr.-" Mrs. Walker paused. "Call me Isaiah." The shade- I mean Isaiah finished for her. "Well Isaiah it is nice to meet you, is there anything you would like to say about yourself?" Mrs. Walker asked politely. Isaiah didn't reply he only stared. "Well umm you can have a seat with the guys if you'd like." But instead of taking up her offer Isaiah walked into the back of the class and sat down. After that class went on as usual until my phone vibrated in my pocket, "ALERT THE HAWK IS WATCHING" it was from Avi. I look at her in question, "what?" I mouthed. She texted back, "look behind you!" I turn around confused. I noticed what she was talking about, it was Isaiah he was staring right at me. I turn back around quickly to embarrassed to say anything. I picked up my phone, "Help me! I don't know what to do!" Avi responded with, "Don't worry I got this ;)" she replied. I did not like that. Mostly because when Avi says she "got this" something goes horribly wrong. Before I could react Avi's hand shoots up in the air...Okay guys thanks so much for checking out our book!! Expect updates every Friday! If you have any questions fill free to comment!
