Jem? Where are you? His younger sister whispered while sniffing the air, I'm bored of hide and seek... ow! She said as a pine cone hit her back. "Not funny jem, race you back to the den! Then with a thud jem jumped out of the tree and raced back to the den. To his surprise he'd beaten Leah ,his little sister, and to say she had a lot of energy was an understatement. From the moment she wakes up till the second she falls asleep she's buzzing.
When we finally got back his mothers spoke in a rushed shakey way j..j..Jem we n..need to talk. And so she told him everything that was happening and that no matter what he and Leah could not return until it was safe, but his mother was not letting him go alone. So she gave him a pendulum, something about it felt special but he kept it to himself.
