Getting Closer

Fitz's POV

Jemma said she loves Will. I knew deep down in my soul that she did, but I know she loves me too. That moment when we kissed... It changed everything. It appears Will is Hydra, at least I can hope. Jemma seemed shaken by the news but she started to really understand her feelings for me after be showed the Zodiac Cartel pictures to the team. We talked a little afterwards, but it was late at night when we kissed and as soon as the team got back we decided to go to sleep.

Jemma's POV

I don't know why but it really suprised me to see Fitz finally express his feelings, it really made me fall harder for him. The kissing was great, but I shattered him by telling him I love Will, but I'm questioning the truth of that now. I used to feel like I should be pushing Fitz away because I don't deserve him at all.

I stared at the ceiling thinking about what I should do about it. When I asked him he didn't really know, to be honest, neither did I. I feel something for Will that I can't fully explain, it's almost like that feeling of a storm over you, knowing it's not good, but enjoying it at the same time. He feels like the moon, dark, needing a light to illuminate it. Leo... His eyes are a sea of blue like the ocean, full of secrets, fear, but... Beautiful. It's a strange feeling isn't it? Never wanting to be without someone. That's how I feel about him. He's my Sun in the darkness, giving me hope and light. We're a beautiful disaster.

I fumbled around on my night stand looking for my lamp switch. I found it and reached for my phone, it's 2:37 in the morning. I got up and put on my blue hoodie, Hunter used it on yesterday's undercover mission into the ATCU. I opened my door and scanned the halls for anyone who might give me trouble. Empty. I fully opened the door and walked a short distance to Fitz's place. I opened the door slowly and looked around to be sure nobody else was there. The cool metal of the doorknob squeaked and I gently closed the door.

I walked towards his bedroom like I have so many times before. He's so organized and clean, everything placed exactly where it belongs. I walked through the doorway being as quiet as I could. He seemed to be sleeping, he's so peaceful. I lifted the covers on the lefthand side of the bed and curled up next to him. His bed is so warm and welcoming, it felt like home. We don't have a home, when somebody asked where home is, we started describing eachother. Daisy had a hayday with this, she whispered OTP EVERYTIME she walked past us.

"Goodnight Fitz." I whispered, pulling myself closer to him. "Goodnight Jemma." He said back. Alarms he was awake I said "How did you know I wa in here?!" He responded "You aren't exactly quiet" he teased. "Ugh, Fitz!" I laughed, a strange feeling, I haven't laughed for a while, he wasn't laughing too. "Can we have a talk Jemma? I just can't do this until we talk about this." I'm instantly nervous. What does he want to know?

I sat up against the headboard and grasped his hand. "What is it Fitz?"

Fitz's POV

My hands got clammy and I got so nervous. "So you understand Will is Hydra, right?" I instantly swallowed and could feel the tension in the room and knew I could ruin everything for us now. "I do." She said, tears puddling in her eyes. "What should we do about it?" I asked as gently as I could. "I don't know Fitz. I'm horrified by it, Hydra has ruined so many of our lives and I can't go on trying to save one of their members I had a 1 1/2 month fling with. What I said about loving--" "Jemma, if you say you love me, I need to know you mean it. And he's out of the equation."

Jemma's POV

"Screw the Cosmos."
I kissed him, harder then I did last night. We kissed long, until I couldn't breath. We leant out foreheads together and i whispered "I love you more than mum and dad, more then the cottage in Perthshire, more then Will Daniels, more then our team, It's you, it's always been you, and it will always be you. I've meant everything I've ever said to you, and I've been bloody waiting for you to ask me on a second date and I--" he kissed my and when we stopped he said to me "I love you more then anyone, anything, and I will and would have no matter what you did. If you decided to go with Will, I would have followed you, because you are my best friend and the love of my life, and I would love to go on another date with you. I'll get you from your room at 8:00 tonight. Dress warm" I gently laughed "Okay." and we went back to sleep cuddled together.
