Camila huffs as she stuffs her new, bright yellow backpack into her new, cold, odd smelling locker actually feeling quite disappointed that she has to leave the bag behind as it represents her younger, sassier younger sister - Sofi, as she claims it is a happy colour and that's why it's her favourite which of course lit Camila's creative spark.

Camila has always been fond of the younger girl, but she certainly wasn't fond of school, specifically the first day of school. She can't believe her summer vacation had blown past her so quickly and the best part is, she literally did nothing for the several months she had off, if you don't count reading and attempting to contact her best friend, Dinah, over the break which she surely was unsuccessful in.

Dinah actually has a social life, or even more disappointing for Camila, a life. Her family had managed to save up to fly all the way to Arizona, which would've been incredibly difficult due to the fact that her best friend's family is bigger than Camila's love for food but that didn't stop the Latina girl from having constant nervous butterflies zooming around in her stomach, making her feel slightly nauseous in a sense.

"Hey, I guess we're locker buddies for the rest of the year," there's a pause before they started to speak again - clearly deciding what to say, and whether or not they should be quite polite or casual. "And you are?" The voice had interrupted Camila's awful but somewhat happy thoughts. It sounds husky and deep, but new and unique. One that Camila would love to hear again as it gave her goosebumps on the back of her neck, making the hairs stand up on her arms eagerly. The flow of her voice, the way it cracks, the certain confidence in it made her stomach flip and do twists.

She manages to lift her eyes, only to be greeted with a beautiful pair of bright green ones, electricity bouncing all the way through them as they study Camila's facial expression, almost as if the other girl is intrigued as she brushes her dark hair off of her face - refusing to look away from Camila but not daring to say another word.

The awkward silence suddenly dawns on Camila and she somewhat sticks out her hand to shake the green eyed girls', but eventually clenched it so that she will get a fist-bump. Feeling totally embarrassed, she scratched the back of her neck before she sighed, attempting to find her voice. "I'm Karla."

"What a beautiful name," the girl replies slowly, almost as if she was walking on thin ice that could crack any second. She lets a small frown overtake her lips however, causing Camila to only become more confused with her.

She looks so pretty. She begins to think, her eyes wandering back to her wide-open locker door and then back to the girl standing next to her. Why would she be wasting her time to someone like me?

"Your backpack says 'CamEEla CabeYO' on it." The girl shrugged before she decided to gesture to the faint writing sprawled across the side of the bag. "Is that some kind of...Inside joke?"

"Oh." Camila bites her tongue, not knowing how or if she should explain how her name is normally pronounced wrong, so she writes the pronunciation on literally everything as one of her biggest pet-peeves is being called, 'Camilla', which occurs more regular than you would think, but then they would approach the dangerous subject on how she goes by her middle name, not knowing if this girl is going to go all phycological on her - it would be best to keep it to herself for the meantime, even if it is something as dumb as what she prefers to be called. "Yeah, it's an inside joke with my best friend, Dinah."

"Right!" The mystery girl smiles before she playfully punched the Latina girl in the arm, looking more intimidating by the second. "Well I better leave you too...Whatever you were doing. You seemed pretty into pushing your bag into your locker before. I swear, I shouldn't of interrupted you for a simple conversation."
