-Four Months Later-
My brisk walking joined with the clacking of my heels may have put off the sense that I was stressed. Actually, I was completely the opposite. It has been four months since I’ve talked to Louis Tomlinson through the phone at the horrific day at the hospital. And though the first month was tough, I’ve managed to get over him with the help of my father’s family. However, I would be lying if I didn’t say that Louis didn’t cross my mind from time to time and that it hurts. I don’t consider them my actual family, no, but I’ve greatly appreciated their support and encouragement throughout the whole process.
Soon enough, my revenge was taken and not even by me. The tabloids soon caught ahold of the scheming ways and he was ridiculed, oh was he yelled at. It was bad press for not him, but the rest of his band. I’ll admit I had grown tired of the constant attention from the media, cameras following me everywhere I went.
The shrill ring of my cellphone jolted me from my thoughts.
“Hello?” I spoke through, my voice warm yet curious.
“Rose?”
“Zayn? Zayn Malik?” I laugh. Unfortunately, parting with Louis meant parting with the rest of One Direction and that was something as I wasn’t fond of as I still loved the rest as my close friends but I had to as my sanity depended on it.
“Yes! I finally found you!” He declared in triumph. “Why did you change your cell number?” I smiled sadly. People had found my number, constantly calling me and harassing me and not to mention Louis was relentless to get my attention. I was so sick of it; I was driven to get my number changed. Before I could answer, a bit of scuffling on the other end started up.
“Rosie, how are you?!” A different voice shrieked through the phone that could only be identified as Liam Payne. “We haven’t spoken in ages!”
“I agree!” A much happier smile grows wide on my face as my slender fingers spread over my lips. A bit more scuffling was heard on the other end until it abruptly stopped as if someone new had taken control of the phone.
“Rose! How are ya’ holdin’ up?” A thick Irish accent boomed through the phone from the other line. Niall’s voice made me feel happy again, as if I was taken back to a happier time with people I loved and my problems were suddenly washed away.
“I’m alright bud, how are you?” I answered.
“I’m alright, just livin’ the dream!” Niall always appreciated the chance he got and the people that got him to the position he was at currently. He never took what he has for granted and often gets emotional. Niall taught me what dedication to a passion was, and what it was like to love something or someone so much, it was as if the person or thing was suddenly your oxygen. That was like music to him, something he couldn’t live without.
“Boys, studio in five!” A distant voice reminded. Niall literally radiated through the phone.
“Rosie, I gotta go but I’ll call soon, okay?” Niall assured.
“Of course!” I replied as we said our goodbyes and the line suddenly went dead.
A could wind brushed my hair out of my shoulders as a chill ran down through my spine. I sighed as I continued walking; recounting all I had to do in my head for the surprise party we were having for Dad’s oldest daughter this weekend. She was turning seven. Before I knew it, I felt a hand grab mine and pulled me into an alley. Fear built up in my chest and it felt like my heart had stopped beating for a minute before starting up again, harder and faster than what should be healthy.
I came face to face with one of the scariest yet sexiest guy I have ever laid eyes, while my light brown hair was strewn across my face and my eyes were wide in fear. My body stood rigid and I couldn’t move and my only thought was he was going to take advantage of me and my womanhood.
“What-“ I almost screamed but he held his hand in front of my mouth.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you,” He assured quickly. “A guy, he’s been following you. He’s been known to cause trouble, with women and sexually harassing them, and I won’t let it happen to another woman.”
“Why do you care so much?” I asked, genuinely curious as I relaxed more. He frantically pressed his index finger to his lips, signaling me to be quieter.
“Why shouldn’t I?” His chocolate brown eyes looked at me, not a trace of judgment in them. I smiled slightly. “What’s your name?”
“Rose,”
“Is it short for anything?”
“Rosalynn,” I answered. He smiled as he rested his forearm above my head.
“I like Rosalynn better,” He whispered. I couldn’t hide the blush arising in my cheeks as I looked down slightly. “Yours?” I asked. He opened his mouth to answer but someone interrupted us before he could speak.
“See you’ve got ahold of her before I have, Matthews,” A nasty voice barked. We both looked up to see a guy dressed in all black with piercing gray eyes and a head barely held peach fuzz. I’m guessing that’s the guy “Matthews” was protecting me from. “Do what you want with her, I’ll get next.” He laughed as if was funny.
“How could you be so disgusting?” He responded before linking his hand in mine and whispering, “Run,” in my ears. We both took off, leaving the man dumbfounded and caught off guard. My fingers tingled with happiness as he helped me jump the fence.
“It’s Jason, Jason Matthews,” Brown Eyes whispered in my ears.
