Dina woke up and found herself in a large room, bound and gagged. She had no idea how she arrived here, but when she tried to teleport out of there, she felt utterly powerless. She actually couldn't use any of her powers. She tried to fight the binds, and attempted to stand up. As she was trying to fight it, she noticed she didn't feel any rope. She looked over her shoulder. Nothing was wrapped around her wrists and ankles. She began to panic slightly, and fought her invisible bonds harder. She jumped to her feet, and felt a proud sense of accomplishment. But as soon as she got to her feet, her vision went dark, and she lost balance. She fell onto the ground, and heard the click clack of heels. A melodious voice followed them.
"Confused? I wouldn't think otherwise. The poor Dina Makido rendered powerless, and blind for that matter. Don't fret, it's not permanent." At those words, Dina's sight returned. She wanted to speak, but her gag prevented it.
"Oh, you wanted to say something? Here. Let me help you." As the woman approached her, Dina noticed she was wearing sunglasses. The room was pretty dark, and Dina had no idea what time it was. The mysterious woman approached her, walking very nimbly, and took her gag off. Dina took some time to regain her breath.
"Who the fuck are you? And why am I here?"
"Now, now. Let's not get vulgar. The only bad thing here is that you're bound, and helpless! Oh wait, that is pretty bad, ha!" Dina looked at the woman with fury.
"If you untied me, maybe I would behave in a more civilized manner." She said, attempting to break free. The woman laughed, or cackled more like it.
"Do you really think I would be so foolish as to let you go?" She grabbed Dina's hair and yanked her head back. Dina let out a cry.
"Do you think I don't know the extent of your power!? Do you think I don't know that I wouldn't stand a chance against you?! You impudent girl. I have more knowledge than you could ever have. And I will use it. I will abuse it." She let go of Dina, who almost fell on the floor.
"My friends will find out I'm gone. They will know something is wrong, and they won't rest until they find me! And they are more powerful than you could ever imagine!" Dina screamed, letting out her anger and frustration. She hated feeling powerless. The woman laughed.
"You ignorant little fool! Don't you think we handled that situation? Your friends have no idea you're missing, and therefor will not come looking for you."
She called Dina ignorant, and she was right. Dina barely knew anything about her. So she decided to satisfy her curiosity.
"What even is your name? You seem to know mine already, let's be fair." Dina said, with a hint of cunning. The woman looked perplexed, as if no one had asked her name before. She quickly shook it off and looked straight into Dina's eyes. She looked proud of herself.
"My name is Asleide [pronounced az-LEYD]. It is a name you will grow to fear, and hate."
Dina laughed. "Fear? Never. Hate? That's more likely!" Dina had it up to here with being helpless. She looked around the room, trying to find the source of her bonds. A flicker of movement caught her eye in the corner of the room. She looked intently, but could only define a shadowed figure.
"Hey, you, in the corner. Who are you?" she called out to him. Asleide looked at the corner.
"Oh, him? He's no one. Just a servant. Only useful for one thing. I don't even remember his
name." Dina found that especially offensive."What's your name?" she asked. The boy stepped out into the light. He looked young, about fifteen years old. He was shortish, and had mid-length black hair. He was pale as could be, and looked afraid. He held his hands in front of him. Dina deduced that he was the source of her bonds. The boy looked at Asleide, as if for conformation. Asleide moved her head, and Dina thought she rolled her eyes under her sunglasses.
