Scarlett's pov

It's been a week since the accident, and Dean decided it was time to move on. So here we were, all sitting in the impala, no one speaking a word, that is until Sam woke up with a start. Me and Dean both looked at him with concern. "You okay?" Dean asked.

I listened intently over the music playing for his reply, to see if I could detect any form of lie in his answer, "Yeah. I'm fine." Sam assured us, rubbing his eyes.
Dean looked at him, "You wanna drive for a bit?"
Sam looked shocked, "Dean, you've never once asked if I have wanted to drive."
Deicing to but in, I said, "Oh, if he doesn't want to drive I'll take you up on that offer!" Leaning over the bench seat, and laying my chin on my over lapped hands.
Dean looked at me in the rearview mirror, "Not a chance little red." I pouted at him.
Sam picked up the map that had the coordinated we were following, "Alright, where are we?"
Dean looked back to the road, "We are just outside of grand Junction."
Sam took a deep breath, "Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon..." he thought aloud, never taking his eyes off the map.
Dean closed his eyes for a brief moment, "Sammy, we dug around there for a week, and came up with nothing, if you wanna find the thing that killed her..."
"We gotta find Dad first." Sam finished with a sigh.
"Dad disappearing and this thing showing up after 20 years its no coincidence, Dad'll have answers, he'll know what to do."

I kind of sank back into my seat after that, I had completely lost interest in the conversation. I let my mind wander back to last night, when Dean had slept with me. He had kept me warm all night, which in all honesty is a first I usually get really cold during the night, and it was a feeling I could get used to. And for once I didn't have nightmares, he seemed to have scared them away, which was refreshing. And then when I woke up, he was still asleep, and I could have laid there all day and looked at his face if it didn't seem stalkerish. He had an innocent look to him while he slept, that didn't make him look like a hunter, but a young boy. But all good things must come to an end, when he started to stir, that's when I knew it was time to get up.

My thoughts were interrupted when Dean pulled into a motel, and turned off the car. I hopped out, grabbing my things and following the boys inside. After we had paid for the room, Sam continued to look at the map, "Black water is pretty remote. Its nothing but canyons and abandoned silver mines everywhere in the woods."

I walked up behind him, ducked under his arm because I would never be able to look over his shoulder, and peered at the map, "Hey, Sammy if there are mines here, there is a possibility that we could sneak into one and take some silver and diamonds! We could become rich." To add effect to my evil plan, I rubbed my hands together like an evil villain would. This caused both brothers to laugh at me.
Dean walked over to a picture, "Dude, look at the size of this frigging bear."
Sammy walked over first, standing next to Dean leaving me to have to jump go have to see over their shoulders. Huffing, I finally tried to squeeze passed Dean and the moose to get a better look.
"Yeah," Sammy started, "And probably dozens more like it around the area." He sounded less than amused. But I wasn't really paying attention to him or his attitude; I was focusing of Dean, who was staring at the bear like a little kid- in awe. My concentration was broken when a ranger walked in, "Now you boys don't plan on going to Blackwater Ridge now do you?," I stepped out from behind the boys so he could see me, "and gal." He quickly added.
"No, we uh, we're park rangers." Sammy covered quickly, "From UC bolder, just working on a paper." He tried to sound nonchalant.
I fist pumped, "Recycle man." I could practically hear Sammy roll his eyes.
The ranger took one look at us, "Bull," I tried to not let the panic show, "you're here for that Haley girl."
Dean chuckled, "You caught us,"he looked at his badge. "We're uh, a couple of friends of hers and..." he trailed off.
Wilkinson shook his head, "Tell that Haley girl to settle down. Her brother filled out a back country permit with his exact return date. Not exactly a missing person now is it?" He asked.
Dean shook his head in agreement, the ranger went to walk away, but Dean stooped him, "Can we get a copy of that permit? So we can show Haley her brother's return date?" He asked hopefully.
The ranger nodded.
