Chapter One

I'm sitting on my bed, using my laptop. The sun peeking its way through my blinds as the day slowly moves forth. The air smelling like bacon and pancakes, due to my little brother making himself breakfast.

I'm not your average girl, no. I'm going into my sophomore year of high school, fifteen years old. I'm on the school football team. You probably expect me to be kicker, right? Wrong! I'm a receiver. I'm known around school, just for being on the football team. Thanks to one of my best friends, I'm on the team. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be doing something I love, which is playing football. She encouraged me to tryout for the team.

School starts tomorrow, and there is a big end of summer party that one of my best friends is having, due to her parents being out of town. Brianna is her name. I hang out with her and a few others; Brianna, Griffin, Tyler and Jacob. The five of us call ourselves 'The Peewee Gang'. We call ourselves that because all of us are short and its a small group.

Brianna Thomas, a ginger with light blue eyes. Her long, red hair is usually curled, but not too much and mostly only at the bottom, we call her Bree.

Griffin Willman, a brunet with short hair that is slightly curly, and hazel colored eyes, we call him Finn.

Tyler Jackson, a dark brown haired boy, with dark brown eyes, we call him Ty.

Jacob Richards, a boy with long, dark brown hair and light brown eyes, we call him Jake.

Then there's me, Rebecca Allen. I have long, light brown hair, and light brown eyes, people call me Beca.

I met Bree back in middle school, sixth grade to be exact. I was at lunch and saw her eating by herself, so I went to go eat with her. I learned that she was a new student that year, moving from South Carolina. South Carolina is definitely different from the bright and sunny, Miami, Florida.

I also met Ty and Finn in sixth grade. they actually used to pick on Bree, then I started sticking up for her, and they started picking on me instead. They eventually apologized and the four of us became the best of friends.

Then came Jake. Bree, Ty, Finn, and I met him in eighth grade. Jake had transferred schools because he got into a fight with someone and the other guy got a restraining order. Bree, Ty, Finn, and I saw him and he looked lonely, so I invited him over to hang with is after school, we usually went to my house after school and played the Xbox.

Ever since then, the five of us have become inseparable. We have gotten closer and we still hang out everyday. we are all in some activity that takes up our time, not allowing us to hang out everyday, but we hang out everyday we can. The five of us are badass. Some people may also see us as the 'popular kids' at school, but the five of us don't care, we just continue on with our boring, daily lives.

Bree is on the dance team, she has friends that are on the dance team, but only hangs out with them when she has something for dance, or at parties, because I won't dance with her. Ty is on the baseball team, and just like Bree, he has friends on the team, only hanging with them when he has something for baseball. Finn is in the drama club, he also has friends from the drama club, but when he isn't hanging out with 'The Peewee Gang', he's hanging out with kids from the drama club. I'm on the football team, but I don't have any friends on the football team. All the guys on the football team don't think that I should be on the team, and they make fun of me for being on the team, therefore, I hate all of them. Then there's Jake, he is still debating what to join. I'm trying to convince him to join the football team, because he could replace the school quarterback, Blake Mitchell.

Other than Bree and I, Jake and I are closer than anyone else in the group. If we have problems, we usually go straight to each other, unless we don't want to tell each other, then we just go to Madi's Diner  that's right around the corner from school.

My friends and I have a list of things we want to accomplish together, so its like a bucket list, to say the least. The main thing we want to do is graduate high school, and go to the same college, but the chances of a college accepting all five of us is unlikely.

As the days go by, we just keep adding things to our bucket list, making it longer and longer. We have yet to complete any of the things on the list, but that's besides the point.

After school, the five of us go to someone's house and hang out until about six-thirty, then go get something to eat, then go out and do something until midnight. The best part about that, our families actually allowing us to do it.

I live with my younger brother, Ryan and my dad. My mom died in a car crash five years ago. Ever since she died when I was ten, I've had to step up and help my dad. I made dinner for him, Ryan and I when he worked late, and I watched after Ryan when he wasn't home.

Ryan is my biggest motivation in life. He is always smiling and is always happy, which encourages me to keep a smile on my face. Ryan is like a mini me, but with green eyes. He has light brown, slightly curly hair, and green eyes.

Ryan is going into seventh grade this year, turning thirteen in February. He always talks about how cute this girl in his band class is and how he wants to ask her out and if he isn't talking about the girl, he complains about how he can't hit the high notes on his tuba.

Then there's my dad, he completes Ryan and I. He always cracks jokes, and makes us laugh. When he's home on the weekends, him, Ryan and I play the Xbox, go to the movies, or go to the bowling alley.

Without 'The Peewee Gang', or Ryan or my dad, my life would not be complete.
