Before The Storm

. Chapter 4: New Friends?

We were arriving at the fields and Skye was trying to keep up with me, "Kacey slow down". "Oh sorry I said staring at the floor". Skye laughed, "It's alright, is Daniel your boyfriend or something". I opened my mouth to answer before Seiyah came up behind us. "No, she isn't", she said laughing at me. "Daniel doesn't even like her like that, he told me". I couldn't breath and a tear came down my face. It's not that I like Daniel, It just hurts me to know he told Seiyah knowing I didn't like her.
"Don't cry Kacey". Skye said hugging me, I just let my arms hang loose I didn't know what to do. "Yeah don't cry" said Skye slightly smiling,"You can always find a new boyfriend, but try not to mess with mine". She walked away to who knows where and I turned back to Skye. I wiped my tears and tried to swallow gulps of air so I could breath better."We have to get ready for the exercises. I did some stretches to clear my mind. I almost started crying again as I thought that me and Daniel's friendship really could be over.
A nurse came and put us in groups of 5, I was with a 2 boy named Ean and Jace, Skye, and a girl named Lizabeth. I was always in the group with Daniel, but he had replaced me with Seiyah.

We were told to do some exercises than we had free time. I talked to Ean and he was really nice. He was with me the whole time during the exercises and he talked to me the whole time. Lizabeth and Jace were really nice too, I felt so happy having all these new friends. We finished up and went to the showers, I walked with Ean and Skye. We all waited in separate lines and once it was my turn I got a clean towel beside the closet and stepped into the warm water. I let the water hit my face as I started crying. Daniel had replaced me and I had to get over it.

I finished washing up and got dressed in all white pyjamas before putting my hair in a braid.
I walked out the door to see Skye and Ean waiting for me. "Your highness, has arrived" said Ean looking at Skye. "Hey I'm your highness too, and don't forget it" I laughed. Ean rolled his eyes and bowed, we all burst into laughter and walked to the cafeteria for dinner. "I am so hungry," Skye whined rubbing her temples. When we arrived at the cafeteria she ran as fast as her feet could take her inside, leaving me and Ean alone. " Wow....I..uh...never seen someone that hungry", Ean said looking confused. I laughed at how surprised he was. "Let's go in before there isn't any food left." We both walked in and saw Skye wave us over, 'Over here' she mouthed.
Me and Ean walked over to the table and sat down. "I got your food for you" said Skye pushing the spaghetti and tater tots toward us. "Thanks" I smiled popping a tater tot in my mouth.
"Red Alert"..."Kakaka"....."Red Alert", Skye said twitching her head toward the door, looking like a dying bird trying to get air. "What are you doing" I asked. Daniel just started laughing causing half a tater tot to shoot out his mouth. "Ex at the door.... I repeat.... Ex at the door." I turned toward the door to see Daniel and Seiyah, Daniel looked a bit annoyed and Seiyah was talking about something, probably herself. Daniel looked at me and smiled, I swallowed the food in my throat and shrugged my shoulders "So" I said turning back around. Skye looked at me weird before she smiled sympathetically and continued to eat her food.

This girl was just having a heart attack a minute ago, but now she was eating her food like nothing ever happened this girl had problems.

"Are you guys ready", I said getting out of my seat and taking a last gulp of my cherry-apple juice. Ean and Skye got up and followed me to the trash can as we all took turns dumping our food into the trashcan. "Time for bed", Ean said looking at the big clock that read 9:34, which hung on the wall of the cafeteria. Our bed time was at 9:00-10:00 you had to be in bed between that time no more, no less.
"I guess I am a little tired" I said. "We all are" Skye yawned. "Let's start walking or else we will get there too the children's floor too late". Daniel and Skye nodded there head in agreement.
Goodnight screamed Skye hurrying to her room. We watched as Skye ran down the hall and opened a door to room NINETEEN. "Goodnight" said Ean pulling me out of my thoughts. "Goodnight" I smiled. Daniel was staring at me until I started to yawn. "Alright, See you tomorrow Kacey". Ean said before walking away, I watched until he entered a different room. I unlocked my door and walked inside getting into bed. I closed my eyes and smiled, I had new best friends and I didn't need Daniel....Seiyah could have him.
