I can't believe it. It's my first day in University. I never thought this day would happen, but it did. I look out the window of the taxi and see a lot of giant giant buildings, and so many people.

"You nervous?" The taxi driver asks me.

"Oh yeah, definitely" I reply with a little bit of a shaky voice.

"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll do ok." He says as he pulls the car up to the front of the school.

"Well... Wish me luck!" I say with a smile as I pay him and grab my stuff out of the trunk. I adjust the handle to my suitcase and walk up the the front doors. I take a deep breath a push open the giant wooden doors. I walk up the the lady at the front desk.

"Umm.... Hi" I say hesitantly

"Hi there! Welcome to Stanford University! How can I help you?" She says enthusiastically.

"Uh I need to find my dorm.." I say

"Ok..." She types something into her computer. "What's your name?"

"Lexi Stevens" I stumble through my words. I really need to calm down.

"Ah, you are in the Westside Dormitorys, floor 3, room 7" She hands me my key.

"Thank you" I say as I grab a map of the campus and rush out the door.

"Okayyy..... my dorm is.... That way" I say to myself as I start walking to the direction of my dorm.

After climbing  3 flights of stairs, I finally make it to my floor. I scan the hallway and look for room 7. 12..567. Ah, here it is. I unlock the door a go inside. I look around and see two beds in the room. One is placed along the left wall, and the other one was placed the back wall. Then there are two desks. One on the right wall, and one fitted next to the door. I realize the none of the beds have been set up for someone yet, so I get first pick. Sweet. I pick up all my stuff and flop it down on the bed against the back wall. It has a window with a ledge on it so I can but stuff like a plant or my rosary on it. Yes, I have a rosary. I pray to God every night before bed, and every morning before I get ready for the day. The only time I used rosary is when I really need Gods guidance.

I unzip one of my suitcases and pull out all my sheets and my comforter. I pull the first sheet over the corners of my bed. After that, I pull out my second sheet and tuck it under the end of my bed. My sheets are a light gray. I grab my two pillows from my giant backpack. My mom made me pack about 5 bags of stuff. I put the sheets on my pillows and place then on my bed the way I want them. This is a single bed, so I had to put one infront of the other so they wouldn't fall if the bed. Then I pick up my Navy Blue comforter and pull it onto bed until it covers both my pillows. Well, that's step one of unpacking.

After about an hour and a half, I only had one thing left to do. I went into to pocket of my suitcase and pulled out two pictures. One of them is of my mom, my dad, my baby brother, my older brother, and me. The second one was of me and my fiancé, Eddie. He asked me to marry him on my birthday a month ago. I place the picture of Eddie and I on the windowsill, and the one of my family on my dresser. When I finish placing my pictures, I hear a knock on the door. I walk over and open it.

"How did you find my room?" I laugh as I hug Eddie.

"I bribed the girl at the front desk. I told her that I was your friend who brought something you forgot the pack, which you did" he says as he pulls a necklace out of his pocket. It's my grandmothers silver cross.

"Oh my gosh thank you!" I exclaim as I kiss his lips softly.

"No problem. I knew you loved this thing, and I'm sure you want to wear it" he walks over to me bed and flops onto it.

"So where's your dorm?" I ask sitting at the foot of my bed.

"It's a few doors down. Number 19" he replies.

"Ok, so your not that far" I giggle. The door opens and a girl walks in.

"Uh.. Hi" she says shyly. She has dirty blond hair, freckles, and light green eyes. She could be about 5.7.

"Hi. You must be my roommate. I'm Lexi" I jump up and extend my hand.

"I'm Sarah. It's nice to meet you" she takes my hand and shakes my hand.

"Sarah, this is my fiancé, Eddie" I say while motioning my hands towards Eddies direction.

"Wait... Did you say fiancé?" She asks with shock in her voice.

"Yup. See this?" Eddie says while lifting up my hand and shows my ring.

"Congratulations! So do you guys wanna go to the welcoming ceremony the school is doing? It started ten minutes ago so I doubt we missed much" Sarah says excitedly.

"Yeah c'mon babe let's go" Eddie says as he grabs my hand.

"Ok yeah sure" I giggle and grab my room key. I think im going to have a good time here.
