How They Met (Part 1)

Dodong (Alden) got its name from the combination of his parents' name Dorothy (Jose) and Pendong (Wally - dahil kalbo).

Dorothy is a cook in the mansion of the Explorer sisters while her husband Pendong (may kalbo) is the gardener of the mansion.

Their son Dodong is a smart and hard working 4th year college student.

In order to finance his studies, he sells isaw infront of the big university just a block from his school every afternoon after his classes.

On the other side, Ursula (Maine) is a 2nd year college student who is very studious but shy.

Ursula became a regular customer of Dodong. Every afternoon, she buys and eats a lot of isaw before she goes home.

One day, Pendong (may kalbo) , got sick. Half of his body got paralyzed .

He asked the Explorers sisters if his son can replace him so they can still have income especially for his medication.

The Explorer sisters agreed.

Dodong easily agreed to replace his father. He also asked his mother to stop working so she can take care of his sick father.

Dodong decided to stop in his studies. He sells isaw in the morning and do the gardening in the afternoon in order to support his parents.

Ursula wondered why the isaw vendor is not around anymore.

She tried to buy in other isaw vendors but Dodong's isaw taste better so she stopped buying isaw.

One day, her class in the afternoon was cancelled. She went home early. After resting, she decided to go to the garden and have some snacks.

She noticed that the garden was blooming with beautiful flowers. So she commended the gardener whose back was turned on her.

"Mang Pendong, the flowers you planted are really nice!"

Dodong, who was fixing the freshly picked roses to be put in a vase, glance at her.

Dodong said, "Good afternoon ma'am. Thank you for the compliment. But I am not Pendong. I am Dodong, his son, who replaced him."

Both of them were surprised to see each other.

They faced each other while Dodong was holding a bunch of freshly picked roses that he's suppose to put in a vase.

"Dito ka nakatira?!" Dodong asked.

"Di ba ikaw si Manong Isaw?" Ursula asked.

They nod and laughed together.

And that was thestart of their love story.
