Chapter-15

It was past 10 in the morning and Kudrat was waiting for Arjun at Sukhna lake claded in simple dark green cotton salwar kameez and was enjoying the calm and peaceful atmosphere at the lake.

She was not the girl who will change herself overnight and will doll herself for Arjun. Her rules were different. According to her, love has nothing to do with your outer beauty. It is all about the beauty of your soul.

And moreover, If someone loves someone, they will always find them beautiful. It doesn't matter what you wear.

"Hello" Someone tapped her shoulder from behind and a smile crept up on her lips.

"Finally you are here. I am waiting for you since past 15 minutes." Kudrat said and turned around.

And there he was, with a beautiful smile on his face and his hands on his ears gesturing a sorry and making a puppy face. Kudrat's heartbeats increased after seeing his beautiful smile.

This was not the first time she was meeting him, but today was different. She was feeling sensations in her stomach while looking at him.

"Theek ae theek ae. Es waari maaf karta.(Okay. Okay. Apology granted this time )"Kudrat composed herself and smiled.

"Pher theek aa. Mainu lgya aaj ta pkka chittar paine ne (Then it is fine. I thought today you will definitely beat me. )"Arjun too smiled and settled himself beside her.

"So. Ki kita pichle ek hafte ch?( So. What you did in last one week ? )"Arjun asked.

"Ki karna c?( I needed to do something ?)"Kudrat was trying to sound normal. What to tell him ? That she realized her love for him.

"Ahan. Mainu miss karya?( Did you miss me ?)"He asked.

"Hor v zaruri kaam haige ne mere kol( I have other important works to do )"Kudrat told him.

"Jhooth bolna ta sikh la kudiye( Girl. Atleast learn how to speak a lie )"Arjun smirked.

Kudrat lifted her eyes lashes up to meet his gaze and then lowered them.

"Jhooth. Main ki jhooth bolya ( Lie. What did I lie about ? )"She asked.

"You know Kudrat"Arjun smiled.

And Kudrat shook her head from right to left and reciprocated his smile to which Arjun chuckled.

"She is so cute. Jhalli. Jhooth v ni bolna aaunda( Mad. She don't even know how to lie. )"Arjun thought.

And then they shared week long details of  happenings in their life. Arjun told her about his meetings, people he met and Kudrat told him about her college and outing with friends.

Hours rolled by and they lost the track of time in their blabberings. It was 5 in the evening when Arjun said,"Boating kariye? (Let us go for boating?) "

"Ess time. Main ghare v jaana ae..mumma wait karde houn mera (Now ? I have to go home. Mother must be waiting for me)"She said.

"Thodi ji der naal kujh ni fark painda( Few more minutes will not make any difference)"Arjun said.

Kudrat thought something and said,"Chlo pher (Let us go then)".

They enjoyed their boating and then Arjun dropped her home. Kudrat was shining like a star. She was so happy. This day was one of the best day of her life.

Days rolled by and Arjun became an integral part of her life. Her day started with him and ended at him. Their meetings were almost regular and Arjun's care and concern was making her fall for him more and more.

"Kudrat I want to meet you abhi" Arjun said over phone. He was not sounding normal. It was past 10 in the night.

"Es time. Hjje kidaan?(This time ? How? ) "Kudrat asked.

"I don't know. Main important gal karni ae. (I have to talk about something important) "Arjun said impatiently.

"Acha acha ruko. Tuc saamne waale park ch aayo. Main aayi( Okay wait. You come to the park which is in front of my home. I am coming)"She said and cut the call.

Kudrat was tensed that what it must be because of which Arjun was so eager to meet her. And then it struck her. No. No. No. Her heart was at an erratic pace.

Was she guessing it right? Is he? Kudrat blushed nervously at thought.

"Mumma. Mainu bechaini hori ae aaj. Main thodi der walk kar ke aayi bahar( Mother. I am not feeling well. I am going for a walk outside)"Kudrat said and stepped out of her home.

She was walking slowly. She was nervous. But little that poor soul knew that her beautiful castles of dreams were going to get destroyed in next few moments.

Kudrat entered the park and saw Arjun walking here and there restlessely. Her heart was beating at erratically. What was Arjun upto? Was it finally here what she wanted? She was walking towards him lost in thoughts when Arjun noticed her and marched towards her.

"Ena time lagda ae bahar aaun ch(Does it take so long to come outside ?) "He asked her.

"Hmmm. Ooo. Kujh ni. Dusso ki gal hoge.( You tell me. What happened ? )"Kudrat asked.

She was trying to sound normal but her voice was trembling because of nervousness.

"Sit. I need to tell you something"Arjun said and asked her to sit on the bench near by.

Kudrat followed his words and took a seat and Arjun sat beside her.

"Kudrat "he said looking at her.

"Haanji"Kudrat said staring into his eyes.

"Vo...vo.."he fumbled with words.

"Ki gal hai Arjun?(What happened Arjun ?) "Kudrat asked and kept her hand at his.

Arjun was silent for few moments and then said,"Jasmine called today"and with that he closed his eyes.

Kudrat processed his words and tried to ask why but her voice was not helping her. Her heart was throbbing like it will came out of her mouth. Earlier it was beating fast because of the nervousness and excitement.

This time it was beating fast because of the fear of losing Arjun . Mere mention of Jasmine scared her.

"Acha. Kyun?( Why? ) "Finally she was able to utter those words.

"She wants to come back. She said she missed me badly and only I was on her mind all these days when we were apart. She said she was very sorry and it happened only because of her ego"Arjun said finally looking again at Kudrat.

This time Kudrat was the one whose eyes were glued to ground. She didn't hear anything after Arjun's first sentence"She wants to come back".

Her heart was aching badly and her eyes became wet. That was why she was staring at ground.

"Tuc ki keha pher?(What did you say then ?)"Kudrat asked him praying to God.

She still had hope. Little bit of hope because this was what Jasmine said. She didn't know about Arjun's answer yet.

"I told her that I need time",Arjun said.

That was it. "Arjun needed time". Kudrat was feeling sick all of sudden and felt like running away from there. He needed time that means he still had feelings for her. Otherwise, he must had said no to her.
