Lock of Truth

I was literally, over it.

Done.

Scott could've said all of the mean things and it would've phase me. Nope. But that little comment had crossed the line. He didn't have the nerve to be saying that to me.

I step up to him threateningly. He looked at me with raised 'eyebrows', if you will.

"I? You are calling me a hoe? Someone who'd willing open their legs for my friend? First of all," I got a bit quieter. "He came on to me. And second of all, I wasn't in a relationship. Like you were when you screwed Mitch!"

His face was tomato red. He looked at me, ashamed. "But.."

"But what? Are you gonna tell me he forced you to do it?" I spat.

He stayed silent. He looked at me, then walked back in side. I huffed as I leaned back on the glass, a little more impatient than I was mintues earlier.

At least 30 minutes pasted. I was now back inside, becaus the scorching sun wasn't doing me any good. I just sat in the waiting room, my arms crossed and so are my legs.

I shook them in nervousness, just thinking about the things that woman would tell Avi. Or what Avi would ask her..

I look up on instinct to see Scott and Mitch walking out from the hallway. I didn't stand up, until I was Kevin and Avi, who were talking to each other.

I smiled at them both, only slightly to test my faith with them. Luckily they both smiled back and motioned with me to follow them out to the car.

As we walked outside and then entered the car, I decided to pop a question.

"So, what did you guys talk about?" I asked as my seatbelt satisfyingly clicked.

"Nothing really. She just asked us questions. Why?" Kevin countered.

"Oh! Nothing I just.... wanted to know, ya know?" I joked.

Kevin nodded and then started the car. Avi stayed silent. For the whole ride. I was worried. Maybe even scared, but I didn't really ponder about it that long.

As we arrived at home, Avi was the first out of the car. He didn't rush inside, but he definitely had some pep in his step.

I shot Kevin a questioning look but he just shrugged, getting out of the car after me.

We walked inside and we hear a door loudly close. Not slam, just a very loud... 'close'.

Kevin threw the keys on the counter. He took off his hat and looked around, then at me.

"You want me to cook anything? " He said. I shook my head.

"I'll be fine. I'll just eat snack for now."

He smiled in reply and went down into his room. Instead of just standing there, I sat on the couch and turned on the tv.

Gladly, I watch the show Ridiculousness, so I wasn't going have to channel surf. As I watched, giggling every now and then as Rob made a joke, I was comfortably perched on the couch.

My mind drifted off, almost completely forgetting about the whole Avi thing. Whether I liked it or not, Avi was always somewhere in my mind.

After an episode finished, I had got up off the couch and walked to my room. On my way I happened to come face to face with him.

He was silent and said nothing to me. Like I wasn't even there. I scoffed as he walked passed me rudely.

Then he stops.

I didn't really acknowledge it, until I felt him behind me as I was entering my room. I turned around and gasp.

"Avi what are you--"

"Why are you scared of me?" He said in a monotone voice.

"I'm not." I say, looking up at him a bit, since he was of course taller than me.

"That's not what Dr. Katie told me." He said walking foward basically forcing me into the room. I heard the door knob shake, as he closed it. I think he locked it.

I stumbled back a little, sitting on the bed. He towered over, not too tall. "You're scared. Why are you lying?"

"I-I'm not." He looked so sad it made me want to cry. He walked up closer.

"Why are you stuttering then?" He said, working his way in between my legs, which was really weird.

I gulped. "Because... you're like.." I didn't even want to say anything to make him pissed.

"Kirstie, speak!" He spoke loudly.

"First of all, relax." I demanded. "Second of all, why don't you believe when I say I'm not scared of you?"

"First of all," He mocked me. "You were stuttering. Second of all, Dr. Katie told me about everything you said."

Everything.

Everything.

"Are fucking kidding me?!" I shouted. He looked at me with wide eyes.

"Is there something you didn't want me to know?" He says, finally sitting down beside me.

"Not really..." I trailed off. "It's just I didn't want to offend you, like say certain things then next thing you know you get mad at me." I added.

I stood up, walking off. "And that's why I get scared." I turned around facing him.

"I'm sorry for lying... I kinda just didn't want you to know."

He nodded. "I'm sorry.. for scaring you. Just for everything I've done." He put his head down and shook it.

"Take your time." Was all I said before heading to the door.

I looked down at the silver doorknob and noticed that the he locked it. I raised an eyebrow and just stared at the handle.

"Avi?" I say, still facing the door, in confusion.

"Yes?"

"Why did you lock the door if you weren't gonna do anything?" I asked. Before I went to unlock it I turned around to see Avi super close to me.

I jumped a bit, because we were basically chest to boobs.

"When did I say that?" He looked at me and smiled.

"Avi I still have no idea what you mean! Either I'm clueless or--"

He cut me off with a warm, passionate kiss on the lips. It was a bit rough too, and filled with such element of surprised it took me a moment before I started to kiss back. His lips were soft, yet so strong as ours both moved together.

He wrapped both of his arms around me. Mine around his neck.

It was actually such a relief that I was kissing him. Actually feeling his lips on mine was a blessing, but not in disguise.

We finally both pulled back, and looked at each other. Still in that same position, he looked at me and smiled brightly.

"Woah," I say, a bit out of breath. He chuckles deeply.

"Is that why you locked the door? Just for a kiss? A kiss like that?" I teased.

I teased because I wanted more.

More of it.... More of him.
