"Oi dickhead!"

"OI!"

"OI GET UP!"

I was then woken up from a deep slumber by a very drunken Cam prodding me. His eyes were bloodshot and his voice was slurred but still he held a can of Carling. That was my Cameron alright, he was very persistent when it came to 'getting wasted'. He stunk of weed so the boys had obviously found my not-so-well hidden secret stash and been smoking it without me. I couldn't remember going to bed but one of them probably just picked me up and took me. I was shattered and the bright light coming from the kitchen was blinding me but still I got up out off my warm bed and followed Cam into the kitchen. As my eyes adjusted to the light I realised I was wearing Cam's grey designer jogging bottoms and a black over sized Jack Daniels jumper that belonged to Ricky. As I continued to wonder about my choice of sleeping outfit I noticed Cameron stating intently at me. My gaze dropped just for a moment and I realised he was 90% naked.

Oh my god Cameron, why would you do this to me?

Cam was my best friend and had been for a number of years so I'd seen him in his boxers many times. But every time I was speechless and my jaw dropped. Cam was the kind of guy who was effortlessly perfect. Everything about him was flawless apart from the fact he had Heterochromia, but I still found that beautiful about him. So what if one of his eyes was turquoise and the other dark blue, it built character. No one was perfect, not even Cameron. His face was expertly chiseled and he had inherited one of his mothers aquamarine intense eyes with her tanned golden skin. His face was good enough, but his body was even better. He wasn't the type of guy who worked out for his body, his six pack and v lines came pretty much effortlessly and along with his tanned skin, he really was a god.

 Cam was freaking perfect.

I wasn't in love with my best friend or anything, I wasn't anywhere near, it was just over the past few months I'd finally been realising how attractive Cameron Lewis Sinclair actually was. Girls would fall at his feet, he'd only have to smile and they'd be going crazy.

But he wasn't the only one of my best friends that was attractive they all were, but especially Cameron and Ricky.

"Jord please stop drooling over me, its kind of weird..." he said as he took a swig of his Carling, his idiotic grin beckoned me to respond for some banter.

"Cam, please. Why in the world would I drool over you?" I replied as I put my hand on my hip and glared at him playfully before sweeping my ebony hair over my shoulder dramatically.

"Why wouldn't you?" he replied cockily as he took the last swig of Carling and crumpled the can before throwing it into the bin and grabbing another. He really was going to have a hangover.

"Um Cam, I know you're drunk and everything but do you not remember?

"What?"

"I just broke up with Jason, I'm not ready for a relationship yet." I replied, a serious tone entering my voice as I calmly replied. My heart started picking up the pace as I thought about the way I'd kissed his dead body. Love hurts, especially when I'd just had my heart broken.

"Don't lie to me, I've seen the way you look at Ricky,"

I just sighed and started clearing up the random cans and cigarette packages that were lying around my kitchen while Cam grabbed his Carling and headed back into the lounge sulkily. I mean, I did have a thing for Ricky but how did Cam know? It's not as if I drooled over him or anything, maybe Cam was just observant.

"Cam?" I called as I followed him into the living room where Max,Ricky and Ryan were sprawled on the couch snoring their heads off. He was no where to be seen, I scanned around my flat for him and my eyes landed on Ricky. Cam was right, I definitely did have a thing for him. He was just so hot with his sleeve of tattoos and flawless body. As I continued to stare at Ricky, I noticed the headlights of a car shine through my window.  I grabbed my red coat and shoved my beige boots on before running down the stairs after Cam.

I strolled towards Cam's BMW and got in the passenger seat since it was the middle of winter and below freezing.

"Hey what was that all about?" I asked as I reached out to turn the music off since it was making my head pound.

"Let's go for a drive" Cam replied avoiding my question as he put the car in gear and drove down the street. I didn't protest even though we were both very hungover and still full of alcohol. It's not like anyone's even driving around at three in the morning. Cam drove towards the lake in silence, I knew he was driving to the lake because every time we needed to have a serious conversation we would go to the lake. It was like a tradition. Cam and I loved the water and had gone to Millers lake ever since we were little kids, Cam's mum Anne always used to take us before she passed away. Whenever Cam was upset or needed to let his emotions out he would come to the lake since we scattered Anne's ashes here.

Anne was a lovely woman, she had Cam's blonde hair, unforgettable eyes and tanned skin. She was like a mother to me since my birth mother was a terrible excuse of a mother. Anne would let me spend the night with Cam whenever mum was drunk and abused me. I cried for weeks when Anne passed away, and when I found out why she died I cried for many more.

My own mother had killed Anne.

It was an accident, well kind of. My mum was an alcoholic and got drunk most nights, but not every night would she abuse me only the worst which were generally on a Thursday night. Mum had been drinking more than usual with her boyfriend Kieran. Since it was only seven o'clock when they ran out of booze they decided to go to the local supermarket as did Anne who was doing the weekly shopping. On the way back from the supermarket Anne reversed her car out of the space and my mother being the idiot she was slammed straight into her since she was completely wasted. I've never forgiven my self. I saw the look on Cam's face when he found out she died and that on its own could make me cry forever. He was destroyed, as was I.

When Cam pulled up next to the river a small tear escaped my eye as I remembered the day we scattered her ashes but I pushed the thought aside as I didn't want to upset Cam, he obviously had something important to tell me or he wouldn't of brought me here.

We got out of the car and went towards the old willow tree that dangled in the water. We used to swing off the branches into the lake on sunny days and the tree just brought back good memories. The stars in the cold night sky illuminated our faces, it was so beautiful just sitting by the lake with your best friend in the night sky watching the stars.

"So what did you want to talk about Cam?" I asked him as I sat on the cold grass next to him, I rested my head on his shoulder as I gazed out at the lake.

"Life," he replied as he stretched out his arms and wrapped one around me. I could feel his muscles squirming as he shivered from the cold wind.

"What do you mean?"

"You telling Jason, I've not forgotten Jord."

Even when Cam was drunk he still knew what he was talking about, damn you Cameron.

"Cam I'm so sorry, I thought he could be one of us. I was in love with Jason, I thought he was the one, I was drunk and I know I'm a twat. Cam if I could take it back I would, I'm so sorry seriou-"

"Shutup Jord!" Cam chuckled as he flung his hand over my mouth. "You talk too much, you know that right?"

I nodded and he smiled, "I love you Jord, always remember that," he whispered as he kissed me on the cheek. His soft pink lips left my cheek feeling warm, small tingles escaped me as I stared into the caring mismatched eyes of my best friend.

"I love you too Cam," I replied as he lay down on the grass and closed his eyes. He pulled me onto his chest and soon enough we fell asleep tangled in the willow tree by the lake.

A perfect night, with a perfect boy.
