John's pov

I went up to where the crash was. It was hard to re-live. I can't imagine how hard it will be for Bay when she wakes up. We still don't know if she ever will wake up. But i'm not losing hope. I know my daughter. She will pull through this no matter what. I'm driving around, I can still see the chards of glass from the cars. They just finished towing Bay's car. I slowly follow the chards of glass, slowly following the glass. I come up to a ditch, there's a car and the glass ends there. This is it I say to myself. I pull out my phone and dial the officer's number, for the second time today, maybe something good will come out of this conversation this time.

S: Hello?

J: Hello officer, it's John Kennish again, I am at the scene of the crime, and I followed the glass, it leads to a ditch, there's a car and the glass ends here. I think this is the car that Chris crashed the car with

S:Okay. Would you mind going to the car and reading me the licence plate number? I can run it through our system and find out who the car belongs to.

I hear someone getting up and going to a computer. I suddenly hear quick typing.

I get out of my car and walk to the ditch, slowly.

I read her the licence plate number and I hear the typing again. Then I hear those words I have been waiting for for a long time.

It's him. we have a match.

I let out my breath that I didn't realize I was holding. This was a good day. Not many people get to help find the people that hit their family members.

I get back to my car and begin driving again, this time with a good feeling inside me, not the negative feelings I had when I first began my search.

Bay's pov

I remember something. I feel something. There's a light. I open my eyes and I am surrounded by white walls. I immediately know where i am. I'm in the hospital. The next thing i know my mom and Daphne are by my side. "Honey we were so worried" my mom said. Daphne just sat there. Trying to hold back tears. I was trying to speak, but my mouth was too dry. So I signed instead. "Water" i signed. Daphne was quickly by my side with a glass of water. "Thank you" i signed. I quickly chugged the water. It felt so good to have aomething in my body. "How long was i out for"? I asked " "2 days" my mom answered. "And we have some good news, the man who hit you, he's going to jail," i was happy to hear that. I slowly closed my eyes again, feeling tired. I knew for sure that this was the start of my recovery
