Chapter-16

"I told her that I need time"Arjun said.

Kudrat closed her eyes and her grip on the bench tightened.

This was the thing she was scared of. Arjun needed time. That means he still had feelings for Jasmine. She was feeling sick all of sudden. She wanted to run away from there.

But Arjun came here to talk to her. She must listen to him. She was his friend.

She composed herself and behaved like everything was normal. She lifted her face up and smiled at Arjun.

"This is a good news",Kudrat passed a smile at Arjun which didn't reach her eyes.

"What is so good in it?"Arjun asked.

"Areyy. She want to come back. You love her. Don't you?"Kudrat asked him. She was trying to sound excited but her voice was not helping her.

"I do. I do Kudrat. But.."Arjun stopped in between and finger combed his hair in confusion and frustration.

"But what Arjun ? You love her. She loves you. She came back for you. She accepted that she was at fault. She is sorry for her egoistic behaviour. " Kudrat tried to make him understand.

"I know. I know Kudrat but I am afraid. I am afraid of going through that emotional drama again"Arjun said and hid his face in his palms.

"You two love each other and you two should be together Arjun. She came back and this time she will not go anywhere. ", Kudrat said and placed her right hand on his shoulder.

Arjun lifted his eyes lashes up which were glued to ground all this time and stared into Kudrat's eyes.

Kudrat blinked her eyes gesturing yes to him and he smiled.

" hai ki tu ?(What are you ? )"Arjun asked.

"Matlab?(Meaning?) "Kudrat asked back.

"You are my best buddy"Arjun said and next moment hugged her tight.

Kudrat was already on verge of crying and this act of his made her more weak.

She wrapped her arms around him and a tear escaped her left eye. She wiped it immediately. She didnnn't want Arjun to notice her tears.

"TUM MOHABBAT NA KAR SAKE, MAIN DOSTI NA KAR SAKI...
HUMAARE DARMIYAAN JO RISHTA THA,
VO APNI APNI SAMAJH KA THA !!"

"Hun theek ae? (Are you fine now?)"Kudrat's mother asked her as she stepped into the house after her walk in the park, as she told her mother.

"Haanji mummy. Hun theek ae. Main saun chali. Chetti uthna ae svere. Good night( Yes mother. I am going for sleep. I have to get up early in the morning) "Kudrat said and hugged her mother tightly.

She was trying hard, trying hard not to cry. And warmth of mother's hug was making it difficult for her to restrain herself from crying.

"Sab theek ae na?(Is everything fine?) "Her mother asked caressing her hair. 

"Haanji mummy sab theek ae. Sojo tuc( Yes Mother. Everything is fine. You too sleep). "Kudrat smiled which didn't reach her eyes.

"Changa. Good night. (Okay. Good Night)"She  smiled back.

Kudrat entered into her room and locked the door behind herself. She entered into the washroom and washed her face to calm herself with the help of cold water.

But nothing seems to work when the only person you love belongs to someone else.

She came into her room and laid on her bed after switching off the lights. She was trying to smile, to feel happy for Arjun but all she was feeling right now was pain, pain in left side of her chest.
