Chapter 14

I followed the map thoroughly. "According to this map, the exit should be...."

"I heard them!" Someone shouted.

"We can't go this way, Lauren's men will catch us!" Chris said.

"We'll go back" Ben said ignoring Chris's comment.

"They are probably back there to" Chris said. The looked at me for ideas.

"Invisibility?" I asked.

"That can work" Ben said.

"This old trick?" Lauren groaned. "We can use my duplicates a to make a decoy" she said. "I'll send them out" she said.

"What if they realize is it was a decoy?" I snapped

"You got a better idea?" She said.

"Yes I always do" I hissed. " You can duplicate into several versions of us and we will sneak through the crowd of people" My invisibility is more reliable but its whatever

"That is actually a great plan" Ben said.

She was speechless. "Well it was my idea too" she said. I snorted and smirked.

"Yeah this was all your idea, so carry on!" I said. "Duplicate!" I said. She spread out into other forms and they looked exactly like us. She fainted weirdly which is obvious she's faking it.

"I feel so light headed" She sighed.

"Shut your trap and let's move" I said mixing the clones up with us inside.

"We cross the border, they can't leave " I said marching out with my group. I tried my best to act like my clone. But as I saw the sunlight the clones disappeared. The Guards glared at me. I quickly turned invisible, they shot wildly, I was hit in my arms and leg several times. I made it over the boarder. They knew they can't attack me on this side. But the other clones worked just fine.

"It was Lauren out to get me" I mumbled.

"Are you hurt?" Ben asked.

"Indestructible but I'll live" I sighed glaring at Lauren who glared at the guards with a disappointed look.

"Lauren what happened to the clones" I asked.

"Felt a little light headed" she said.

I glanced at Chris who had an annoyed look on his face. "What's the address" Lauren asked. Ben reached into my pocket

"It's all dirty I can't read it"  Ben said.

"Chris! Call Tony to read the computer" I said.

"What is that going to do?" Lauren complained

"Shut up Lauren" I hissed.

"You majesty, there is a town up a head" Ben said. I was spun around and a small city was just up the block, like in one of those cowboy movie.

"There is the house!" Ben ran off.

"No fair! that isn't the house" The sun was beating down on me so I could muster much energy to go run after them

Ben knocked on the door anyway and a Drunk old man with a white beater opened the door. "Excuse me is Dani and Joseph here?" Ben asked.

"Two houses down!" He said slamming the door in Ben's face. He just laughed.

Lauren knocked on the door. "What?" A middle aged man glared at her.

"Is Dani here?" She asked.

"Yeah? So?" He asked.

"We kind of need her" Chris said.

"Hey Joe!" Ben said.

"Chris? and Ben? You rascals come inside. I was set down on the couch that smelled like dog shit and Barf. Not to mention cigarettes

The dogs eyed me they wanted to tear me apart. "DANI GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" Joe yelled. Dani slid down the stairs.

I felt woozy, "That .......I....." I mumbled. I sat back on the couch and fell asleep. This isn't like me whats going on.

I woke up outside. "It's nice of you find me a new team member!" Lauren shut the back door and those dogs I talked about earlier. It was burning up out there. The sweat is un comfortable and I'm swimming in it.

"Lauren I will kill you!" I hissed. I fell on the grass because of the heat. And the dogs cuddling up to me didn't help me. My body was slowly dehydrating. I heard a car pull up and a door slam shut.

That gave me the strength to get up and head to the porch. It's locked.  "Damn" I said I didn't want to break the door down.

"Doggy door!" I yelled I slipped right through because of my sweat.

"I don't know where Jamie went, she's been sleeping this whole time" Lauren said. I emerged and she smirked.

"Jay!" Ben said. I wiped the dog hair and drool off of me. I went up to Lauren and punched her arm. The blow wasn't lethal but she shouldn't be able to use it for another hour.

I had a bucket of ice water thrown on me. I slowly opened my eyes. "What?" I mumbled.

"You came in here and just punched Lauren!" Ben yelled.

"I gave her what she deserved" I said.

"Lauren kicked Jamie outside!" Dani said.

"She was getting cold so I thought this is how you warm up!" she said.

"I can't believe you both, you can't just behave, you two are always doing something stupid?" Ben said. I slowly got up and Joe looked like he was enjoying himself.

"Both?" I narrowed my eyes.

Dani helped me up and I petted the pit bulls and walked right the door. Dani grabbed my hand and nodded. "If she's going with you guys, then good!" Joe said. Dani looked hurt. "It's just that, I have no special powers, so I don't know how to raise you to be like her" Joe pointed at me. She nodded slightly.

"Jay where are you going?" Chris said.

"Outside."

"Take a bottle of water before you collaspe." Chris  threw one my way and I caught it. I left the house and started walking on the sidewalks.

"Who cares about them" Dani said.

"I like you." I smiled.

"Sooo. You and Ben huh?" She winked

"Not at all." I peered back.

"They are waiting" she said.

"The twins? They can wait." I asked. Dani said pointing over towards the street and the NSA were standing aiming their guns at me.

"Crap..."
