Audrey and Hazel were inseperable until the third grade. Their parents made the sudden decision to keep them apart, saying that the other was a "bad influence" whenever asked. As they matured, they found other friends, cliques and groups and attended the same high school. Audrey was one of the "preppy" girls, having been raised by a single mother. She spent her time shopping, swooning over fashion, and had quite a lot of friends. On the other hand, Hazel was a quiet girl who prefered sweats and a T-shirt to a skirt and heels, and a book and hot cocoa to shopping. Her dog Sammy is generally her only company. Their mutual friend, Damien, is the only thing they have in common.
When the two former friends bump into each other one day, they'll find something that they never expected, a dark secret that will change them forever.
