- Calista's POV -
I wake up with a slight blurry vision and a buzzing head. I lift up my head and take in my surroundings. I am sitting in a drop ship. Along with other juvenile delinquents. Strapped into their seats as well. They all share scared glances as I hear the voice of my best friend. "Hey, sleeping beauty", Octavia laughs and I turn my head to her with a big smile on my face.
"O!", I screech, "How long have I been out?", I question when I reach my hand up and touch my right eyebrow. It's bleeding. "We already hit the atmosphere", she says excited like a little kid. Suddenly the drop ship starts jolting and with a loud bang it stops as fast as it started. "I guess we hit the ground", I mark as an asian boy speaks up as well, "Listen. No machine hum." "Whoa! That's a first", the kid with goggles next to him grins and soon everyone starts to get out of their seats. "The door is on the lower level", a kid yells and all of them make their way over to the ladder. Octavia goes first and I follow right behind. Suddenly she stops standing still on the bars of the ladder. "If the air is toxic we're all dead anyway", a deep male voice reaches my ear. I look down at Octavia because we're still clinging onto the ladder as I can see something metal in my boot reflecting the weak light of the drop ship. My knife. I sigh in relief. I managed to smuggle it into the Skybox and kept it hidden all the time. Finally Octavia starts moving again and slowly climbs down the rest of the ladder. "Bellamy?", she asks and makes her way over to the door with me right on her heels. "Look, how big you are", he says proudly to her as she throws herself into his arms and he hugs her back tightly as his eyes settle on me. Does he recognize me? I would recognize these eyes out of a million though we only met twice. Years ago.
- Flashback Calista -
My shift at the Medical-Station was over for today. We had a lot to do because of an accident that happened at the Mechanic-Station. It's already very late so the hallways were empty and silent. Voices filled the air and were getting louder as I kept slowly walking. I overheard a conversation between a woman and a man as I passed some apartment doors to get to my brother. "She's getting worse", the male voice said with concern. "What are we gonna do? We can't take her to the medics. And you know that", the woman countered sadly. "Than I have to go and get the medicine for her", he said confidently but the woman denied it, "No! You're not stealing the medicine for your sister!", she raised her voice. A second child? "But Mom...", but he was cut off. "I said no!" I felt bad for the sick girl. That wasn't fair. I got lucky though. I could live like all the other kids because my mother's friend agreed to raise me because she wasn't able to have a child. I kept thinking about the sick girl. I couldn't get her off my mind. I wanted to help her. I was raised as a doctor though I hadn't get my doctor title yet because I was still too young. But I could try to help her without taking her to Abby. I kept stuck in my thoughts as I slowly approached my brother's apartment. I opened the door quietly and walked in when I saw him already sleeping. I layed myself down as well and was fast asleep.
- Bellamy's POV -
Octavia and I break apart and she starts to study my outfit, "What the hell are you wearing? A guards uniform?", she frowns confused and I feel the red-haired girl, who followed Octavia, watching me closely with her bright green eyes. These eyes look so familiar but I can't remember where I had seen them before. She must be friends with my sister. "I borrowed it to get on the drop ship. Someone's got to keep an eye on you", I smile at my little sister as she hugs me again. Suddenly a female voice fills the air, "Where's your wristband?" I look at the blonde girl and Octavia whips around. "Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year", she snaps at her when murmurs start to disturb the silence. "No one has a brother", one kid yells. Octavia's friend turns around with her jaw clenched and threatens the kid, "Shut the hell up or you're not going to see earth!" "That's Octavia Blake! The girl they found hidden under the floor", another one pipes up. "That's it!", she says and starts to launch herself at the kid but I wrap my arms around her waist and hold her back. "No, no! Calm down, princess", I chuckle. She eventually stops struggling and looks at Octavia who's simply smirking at her. I could tell she's grinning back. I let go of the girl and she turns around. "Let's give them something else to remember the both of you by", I suggest and Octavia snaps back at me as her friend rolls her eyes, "Yeah? Like what?" The girls watch me curiously. "Like being the first two persons on the ground in almost a hundred years", I smirk as Octavia smiles her brightest smile and her eyes light up. I look at the red-haired girl waiting for a reaction when she can't hide her smile any longer and grins back. I pull the lever and the door opens. Fresh air floods the drop ship along with the bright blinding light of the sun. I blink several times until my eyes finally adjust to the bright light. I watch the girls taking a step forward and scanning our new surroundings in amazement. Octavia's friend closes her eyes and inhales a deep breath of real fresh air when Octavia's hand grab hers. My gaze stays on the girl with the big smile plastered over her face. They start to walk down the ramp until they reach the edge. The girls take one last glance around at the trees covered in green, the blue sky and the soft soil. Octavia looks at her excited and the girl just nods her head. They jump down the ramp and the soft soil muffles the thud of their boots. The girl lets go of Octavia's hand and looks up at the trees. She stretches her arms out to the sides and spins around smiling as Octavia starts yelling, "WE'RE BACK, BITCHES!" I run down the ramp towards the girls along with all the other cheering delinquents. Octavia's friend jumps back at the sudden noise and starts laughing when her back collides with my chest. She quickly turns around still laughing and I get hold of her elbows to steady her as she stumbles. "Whoa, princess. Careful", I say jokingly and let go of her. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you", she apologizes with slightly red cheeks while she tries not to burst into laughter again. Soon Octavia's arm lays around her shoulders. "May I introduce you two? Calista? That's my brother Bellamy. Bellamy? That's Calista. My best friend", she says smiling. "I am very pleased to meet you, princess", I bend down pretending to be in awe. Calista chuckles and bobs a curtsy to me, "I am very honored to meet you, too."
We all start laughing again but soon she gets tackled into a hug and gets picked up and swung around. "Finn! Put me down", she screeches laughing when he finally stops spinning in circles. He puts her back onto her feet and smiles at her. Calista throws herself at the boy and hugs him tightly. They seem to be close. "Oh my god! I missed you, Cali!", I hear him mumble into her hair. "I missed you, too, Spacewalker", she says mockingly and he scoffs as they pull apart. "Come on, there's someone you might want to see", Finn says as he starts to drag her with him. She quickly turns around to Octavia and I as we watch Finn dragging her away laughing. "See you two around", she yells and waves at us smiling before she turns around. I watch her walking away while her red hair whips with every step. I can feel Octavia's eyes burn into the side of my face. I break away from the sight of Calista and face my sister who has a big smile on her face. I laugh at her "What?"
