Twilight's Last Gleaming

- Bellamy's POV -

I wake up in the middle of the night by Octavia who'scalling for me. "Bellamy! You have to see this! Calista! Get outhere" I get up and put on my pants and my boots and leave the tent.I look around and see Calista leaving one of the tents with ashirtless Sterling right behind her. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain inmy chest. But why? Am I jealous? Is that possible? I look around andspot Octavia. She's standing next to Calista and Sterling. I look ather and then at Sterling. Calista looks back at me when the two girlsI slept with come out of my tent only covered in blankets. All of asudden I feel guilty when I see the hurt flash through her eyesbefore she turns to Octavia "What is it, O?", she asks when Icome to a stop next to her. She points up to the sky and we seesomething falling to the ground. "The Ark send us help", shecheers. "It's to small for a drop ship. Guess it's a pod. Maybesome supplies", Calista suggests and forces a smile. No, they can'tcome down. I will lose everything when they do. But why seems Calistato be afraid? "I've got blood on my hands, too.""I hope they send down some shampoo", I hear Roma say. Calistashoots her a death glare. "Yeah, that's what we need down here.Even if we're gonna die we would at least have good looking hair",she snaps at her and walks back into Sterling's tent. My eyes followevery single move of her. When she comes out again she wears herquiver and her bow across her chest and makes her way over to themakeshift table next to another tent. She grabs a knife and puts itinto her boot and another one into her belt. I turn around and walkback into my tent to put on my shirt and my jacket before I walk intothe main tent to study the map. After some minutes Calista joins usalong with Octavia by her side. "If it has cleared the Ridge itmust have landed near the lake", one guy says. "We should getgoing", Calista says but I counter, "Not while it's dark. It'snot safe. We leave at first light. Spread the word", I say and theboys leave the tent. Calista sends me one last angry look and rushesout of the tent as well. "Everyone around saw this thing comingdown. What is the grounders get there first? We should go, Bell",Octavia tries to reason but I remain cold. "I said no!", I sayand push past her.

- Calista's POV -

Iwalk over to Bellamy's tent and rush in when Roma shoots an angrylook at me. "Ever heard of knocking?!", she snaps. "It's atent, bitch! Ever tried to knock on a tent?! ", I say annoyed,"Where's Bellamy?!" "He left some time ago", she sneers. Hisgear is gone. I run out of the tent and into the woods. I should haveknown when I looked in his eyes. I sprint through the woods when Ihear someone a couple of feet away from me running as well. I stopand look around when I see Bellamy running in my direction. Seemslike he didn't see me yet. I start running again and try to reach thepod before he does. "Calista!", he calls for me but I keeprunning. "Bellamy!", I hear the voice of my best friend and weboth stop running and turn around. "Go back to camp. It's not safeout here!", Bellamy snaps at her. "You lied to everyone! You liedto me!" "I said go back!", he says and shoves her shoulder."You always wanna play the big brother, huh? But guess what? Joke'son me", Octavia says and I slowly walk backwards and try to sneakaway but a twig snaps under my boot and Bellamy spins around."Calista, stop! I can't let them come down. If they do, they'llkill me!", he pleads and now I'm curios. "What did you do?",Octavia asks carefully. Bellamy takes a deep breath before he speaksup, "I shot him! I shot Jaha! I couldn't let you go alone. Someonecame with a deal to me. Kill him and I get you on the drop ship. AndI did it." My heart stops beating. "Why?", Octavia asks again."He deserved it. He killed our Mom. He locked you up." "Ididn't ask for that", she says. "You're right. I made the choice.I did this for you. To protect you!" "I didn't ask for any ofthat!", Octavia says bitterly before she turns around and walksaway. I stand there with my eyes wide and my jaw dropped. Bellamyturns around and looks at me with guilt in his eyes. "Cali-...""No! You don't have to explain yourself", I say and walkbackwards. "I had to do it." "Now, that Jaha is dead, Kane isthe chancellor. Do you even know what this means?", I snap while heslowly approaches me. "Marcus Kane is willing to reduce thepopulation level to save oxygen! He will kill people on the Ark!" Isay and take off to the pod. "Calista, wait!" "NO!" I runthrough the forest and jump over roots and rocks but I trip and fallto the ground. I hit my head on a rock and I feel blood running downmy forehead but I get up again and Bellamy is now running next to me."You can't do that", I scream at him but he keeps running. Thepod comes into view and my vision starts spinning. I stop in mytracks and fall down to my knees. "Bellamy, please, I'm beggingyou! Don't do this. I can get you out of this." "I'm sorry, but Ican't take that risk", he says and opens the pod. Then my visionturns black.
