Chapter 2

Daryl s pov

We had been at the CDC for a few days now. I didn't trust it though. Nothing this good can last I though. But I was pulled out of my thoughts by someone banging on the door. I ran to the room with all the cameras. It was a little boy and someone was clutching on to his hand for dear life. I looked at the camera and there stood a girl bright blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. Jenner wasn't letting them in. Then after a few minutes the girl started telling us to take her brother and leave her. This made Jenner click. After agreeing to a blood test he intoructed herself to everyone then we ate dinner and we all fell alseep.

The next morning

I woke up and everyone else was already awake. I went to kitchen and I saw izzy sitting next to Connor. She was ruffling his hair which caused him to giggle. I fought the urge to smile. Damn. What was this girl doing to me.

Ricks pov

I woke up early and after getting Carl ready we all walked down to the kitchen. And there I saw something I never thought I waould see agin. It was Shanes my best friends two kids. They called me uncle Rick. Once they saw I let go of Lori and prepared for impact. They both camping running at me yelling:
"Uncle Rick!" I took them both into my arms as we all three cried. "Daddy?" I heard Connor ask me. I shook my head no. He started sobbing. Izzy took him into her arms as I wiped tears away from her face using my thumps. "Hey it's okay" I said causing Connor to look up at me "I'll protect you with my life" I promised him which caused him to smile. I introduced him to Carl then I handed them a pack of cards and told them to go play. Which they did eagerly. Then that's when I noticed Izzy was still sobbing. I took her in my arms and rubbed her hair as she put her arms around my waist. "That promise goes for you too." She smiled then everything turned off and all panic broke loose.
